Re: Update Your Realmlist.wtf

Hello) After changing my realmlist to play.octowow.st, I can't connect from Russia without a VPN. With a VPN it works normally.
Could you please check whether the new connection point/provider has any connectivity or routing issues with Russian ISPs? I also saw a couple of other players mentioning ...

Re: RMT V5

public shaming should be mandatory

If you have any more creative ideas for public shaming we'd love to hear them!

I feel like perma ban, begone and get forgotten are absolutely the best approach, and honestly, I don't think RMTers deserve any kind of permanent monument in the game. No ...

Re: Polls are nice, but...

how am i the perfect example?
i have no personal gains from voting in favour of or against achievements
unlike the example i gave, where Alliance players lose their insta q

Feel free to reply with some counter arguments and not just stating about perfect examples

That's actually not what I ...

Ironically, I think your reply illustrates exactly the point I'm trying to make.

Today it's "addons are ESSENTIAL." Years ago they were optional. That's exactly how community standards evolve.

I'm not comparing what addons and achievements do. I'm comparing how communities gradually turn ...

Re: Polls are nice, but...

We naturally vote according to what benefits us personally at the moment, not necessarily according to what is healthiest for the server in the long run.

Ironically, I'm a good example myself. I'm voting "No" on achievements because I genuinely believe they'll change the game's culture over time ...

Re: Achievements & The Poll-System

- as the time showed on the official servers: Achievements weren't simply something that you "can" do, but at some point you "have to" do.

I hear this complaint or variants of it pretty frequently. I feel its a flawed argument.

The player base isnt some cohesive hive mind. Yes there will ...

Re: Achievements & The Poll-System

Allow achievements if community desires it,
but give the option to either hide it from others or disable it at all...

Hiding achievements doesn't solve the problem I'm talking about. The issue isn't privacy. The issue is standardization.
Addons are a perfect example. They aren't part of the ...

Re: Achievements & The Poll-System

I completely agree with Sylveria's concerns, especially because I think many people are looking only at what achievements add, not at what they slowly change.

To me, the biggest issue isn't the achievement system itself. It's the culture that grows around it. It has every chance of becoming a ...

Re: Pig demotion

But honestly, do we really want GM-robots? I think most players appreciate having human GMs who talk, interact and care about the community.

It's only your opinion, most players only care about the speed of ticket processing, not the GM's shitpost.
Imagine your ticket has been pending for two ...

Re: Pig demotion

I would agree with Darktifa. I think people here are starting to talk about Pig as if that conversation with a player was the only thing he ever did as a GM, while forgetting that there were many good things he contributed before.

I can’t know what exactly happened internally, but I feel like ...
