Want to try Questie-Octo addon but it require to install ClassicAPI.dll. How do I do it without using the octo launcher?
I have copy the ClassicAPI.dll to game directory but not working. I do not see dlls.txt too.

EDIT: Able to figure it out, manual create dlls.txt in game directory, add ClassicAPI.dll to it and run VanillaFixes.exe to start the game.

I did the same i can confirm it works, the update messed up a lot with custom dlls injection

Download the latest wow-client.zip, use the new game directory instead of using your updated game directory.

Got it running!

The trick is to disable the "dxvk" mod from the launcher, as it requires Vulkan video drivers which many of our video cards do not support at all (see plethora of errors like mine posted above).

I strongly recommend making this mod not enabled by default. So we don't lose players. Thanks.

I consider it possible that you simply are not in full control of your computer and simply didn't install current graphics drivers correctly.
All nvidia and amd cards since 2016 support vulkan, all intel and amd onboard-gpus support vulkan since 2017.
If you use an older computer, it's not the playerbase that would benefit from making it disabled by default, it's you specifically and maybe a few more.

... But it looks like you've removed world chat from this client? It is still present on the old client and people are trading there, but the patched game does not allow joining the World channel. Is this an intentional decision or an oversight?

Trading in chat is not the same as the ah at all, it that is the thinking...

edit: had to do a /join world to have it appear again. Don't remember having to do that before.

oh hey well newb tip: right click in chat on the "General" tab (the title of the tab, when it comes up after randomly clicking inside the chat box) and choose which channels are joined by default.

1) The video card does not support vulkan. I am in full control of my PC so much so that I am about to ditch windows so that I can run Unity again. Don't tell grandma how to suck eggs. The video card is an AMD Radeon HD 5570 - released in 2010. So you were saying...? I know three other people who play octowow, all three had to disable the dxvk mod to get it to run.

2) The World channel has been removed from the the default general tab right click ui ... I am not effing blind ok.

3) Stop assuming you know what you are doing and that I do not.

4) I am so done with gaming forums. I ran a large one for a decade and hosted the game servers. I used gopher on a vax/vms telnet session.

Ok I´m off. Rank "11" mage with over 100k honor.. What the actual fuck is the point of slashing spellpower in Battlegrounds when you have BM Hunters and Warriors absolutley destroying everyone ?
You ALL know the names, they are on top on EVERY single battleground.. totally wrecking havoc. And they single out mages first EVERY FIGHT, they eat through cloth SOOOOO fast.
Why having a class like BM hunters that are such unstoppable class against mages ? Leel, Omlak, Gapa I've spoken to them all, and they all say they go for cloth first since we down so fast and it makes sense. They can choose though - they can drain your ENTIRE mana bar in a matter of seconds too... you cant do fucking shit.

Whats cloth answer ? Well, it should be RANGE and DPS. Range is a joke.. the distance get closed faster than you load a single frostbolt or fireball. DPS ? Not really, most other classes are up there destroying.

No Im not really looking for answers here.. Im just going to stop playing. What a fucking mistake I did picking mage.

Hey @Archer / @Kestrel. I can only hope that in the far future we'll get a proper client upgrade to UE5

But until then, would it be possible to get the extra HD patches natively through the Launcher and a graphic selector (in Launcher perhaps?) to pick and choose OG or HD graphics?

(I have no experience enabling extra custom patches, but that would be a nice QoL upgrade for the Launcher to handle this seamlessly and flawlessly...)

I also have a few notes regarding launcher:
(1) At some point the Launcher has given me SuperWoWhook.dll, however it's not listed under "CUSTOM MODS" but rather "YOUR DLL MODS". Is that intended?
(2) Also, I deleted Turtle_General and Turtle_GroupUI under the ADDONS tab today since I hadn't chosen them and they had the "Missing .toc file" alert. However, upon removing them the "Enable Compact Group Frame" and "Replace Party UI" Options got bricked. These files unfortunately didn't come back when I clicked "Verify game files" in Launcher.

Can you PLEASE add a version to the web page link / download torrent, so we can see when shit has been updated. Lot of people dont like the launcher as it changes your settings, force install addons/mods (often older versions). And tbh its bit of a hassle to use on linux anyways.

I read through most of the posts but I didn't see a resolution for this, so I'm posting my fix.

I didn't have any problems using v1.3.7's torrent client. However I ran into the same problem with 1.3.8. I dl'd the new client only because it updates that .wtf containing the realmlist.

The fix to the torrent client was changing the version of Proton the installer was using. I changed from 10.0-4 to 11 and it fixed it. Once you dl, you may want to change back. Proton 11 doesn't seem to handle the weather effects very well. At least on my PC.

Hopefully this will help someone.
