Proposal for a mass amnesty.

First of all, I would like to thank you for your work; we can see that you are trying to protect us from RMT scoundrels.

At the same time, we are somewhat concerned about the indiscriminate and widespread nature of these actions.
We constantly joke on Discord—whenever we trade gold or items—that we could be banned at any moment on suspicion of RMT.

There are a few people in our guild who don't understand why they were banned; when we suggest they file an appeal, they reply, "I'm not going to do that—I'll just go play somewhere else."
Some people don't do this because of the language barrier, a lack of desire to spend time on it, and frustration.

With great respect, I’d like to make a cautious suggestion.

You announced improvements to the methods for identifying violators. I am confident that these actions will make it possible to punish sinners more effectively and fairly in the future, and with fewer errors regarding the innocent.

It might be worth considering a mass unban for all the players who were banned, since there was a significant number of erroneous bans.
—with the exception of obvious offenders of RMT.

In my view, this will not lead to major negative consequences for the server, as shady dealings will always eventually face justice and punishment.

No, "we" are not concerned about that. They broke the rules, they paid the price.

All these people are well able to file their own appeals.
If they can prove their innocense cases will be resolved easylie.
People that interact with RMTers are just as guilty for RMT as the initial providers of the services.

This request comes across as an attempt to camouflage/save a few people in your inner circle that might have messed up big.

Thats just my take on what i read here.
Cherio stay clean.

Shady dealings will eventually face justice and punishment... unless of course there's a mass amnesty, in which case I guess they won't.

Oh God no... Blanket reversals of all bans just because some people (falsely) worry that trading their guiildie 10g will flag them for RMT? you might as well just remove the rules... Why would future bans happen if this was to be implemented?

I am not in the slightest bit worried about it. Those who feel they've been caught in the bans falsely can appeal. This is absolutely sufficient. If their response was "oh I'm not doing that" my suspicion is that they infact know very well why they were banned and are simply trying to save face.

Yeah..... No.

If you have any specific characters or accounts you feel may be unjustly banned you can make an appeal on their behalf by simply providing their name and we would be happy to re-evaluate any situation and make more evidence public. We do not see any evidence of "a significant number of erroneous bans".

Looks like I overestimated how many bans were mistakes.
Our guild already unbanned the people who got wrongly banned.
As for the ones still banned, they agreed in a private chat that the punishment was fair.
So yeah, I'm retracting my proposal — thread can be closed now.

Im not a fan of bans, for any action really, even for RMT. I'm against RMT of course, just dont believe in bans. Wish there was a means of keeping the offending account alive and maybe rolling it back a level, or 2, or 5, and deleting any gear obtained during the violaton gap. Would be a method of preventing RMT without losing all progress.

FYI - Not an RMT'er
