strike back at Capy/RavenCraft

How about you strike back at Capy/RavenCraft—not with DDoS attacks, but by taking their player base? Offer a character transfer to their community. :D

There is no playerbase on Raven, max online is about 550, unique ips about 1/3 of that, average player count is 100-150 at best. There are 3 pedo guilds there, and about 1/2 of that 100-150 online are pedos. The raven project failed miserably on week one; at that, most of the player base also have accounts here. As for Cappy, the bulk of the playerbase are CN.

Doing a DDOS without the 100% sure (who is basically impossible to track it) is from them is basically a waste of time.
Plus it cost a lot of money time and resource they for sure don't have it right now, as they are trying the best to stay as much possible anon, plus trying to maintain the server up and running with DDoS ongoing too.
Those bastard doing DDoS they are gonna run out of money if they continue like this, so is just a matter of time :)
Be all patience and let the dev work :D

I would also add for Octowow, financing the ddos protection is no problem. I personally donated this month enough to cover their expense for September.
We are going to be fine, once a protection service is established.

Should an attempt be made, the best way to handle this is to stop at the identification of the attacker, perhaps making it public information.
Doing another ddos in revenge isnt to the benefit of octowow, as the best revenge is prosperity.

It's also not the best response for the community that just wants to play. These private servers are about preserving the game for players to enjoy and DDoS attacks directly contradict that effort. Whichever server is DDoSing OctoWoW are no different from Blizzard.

Pretty much. Becoming no better than the offender by doing it back to them is an implicit confession to stoop even lower.

Its better to focus on where we want to be above all else and naturally we will gravitate there. While the irritation and want to get back at the offender is understandable, its not where we belong, nor want to be.
