As far as I see it, OctoWoW is free to play. The server is currently under attack, and from what I understand, the issues we've been experiencing lately are not something the OctoWoW team caused. They are trying to deal with the situation and fix things in their free time. And since this isn't a traditional business where we're paying for a service, they could just as well walk away from it if they decided it wasn't worth the effort anymore.

That's why I honestly don't understand why so many people are demanding reimbursements, free donation tokens, or other perks as compensation. I also don't see how threatening to leave, announcing that you're quitting, or whatever else you want to call it, is supposed to help. As I see it, the team isn't obligated to compensate us for something that is outside of their control.

Personally, I'm just grateful that I have the opportunity to play an upgraded version of Classic WoW without having to go back to Blizzard. And since going back to Blizzard simply isn't an option for me, it's basically either OctoWoW or not playing WoW at all.

So I'm grateful that the OctoWoW team set this up in the first place, and I hope they'll be able to get everything under control. In the meantime, I'm happy to be patient and appreciate the work they're putting in to keep the server going and fix the problems they're dealing with.

Hoping for the best soon, don't get discouraged by people who say they'll leave. Leave then, where will you go? Go check ravenshit's server, there is 0 people in human starter zone, 0 in Goldshire and a single lost soul in Stormwind Trade Quarter. This is hilarious, Octo is the way, FK Chinese Communist Party.

It appears we are being hit with a DDoS after all right now, but one shaped very differently then what we have been seeing the last week and a half. The first burst null routed even our TCP proxy causing us to assume it was an issue on their end. We are working to get more information now and will update here again when we have more to share.

If we are getting ddosed, another way today than we did the other days, all i can say is that alot of money have been spendt keeping octo wow down.

I can only think of two other servers in the private scene that would have any benefit doing so (and can afford it), but make up your own minds.

Let us know when all the new hardware have been installed until then i think i a little break from wow is the right thing to do.

Stay strong guys...

They wouldn't walk away, they make a fortune from "donations".
