You need to find a new host. The lack of communication and urgency from them is very unprofessional.

Lack of communication or urgency? Have you not see the DDOS posts every day on here? Or the fact that hes letting us know whats happening even now? They are also actively upgrading and getting new services for DDOS prevention as well which theyve said multiple times.

I think the "them" is referring to the company that is hosting octo, not the octo dev team.

How would you characterize those that are DDosing Octo?

A. Amateurs that have no clue what they are doing
B. Amateurs that just bought DDos "Services" online
C. Knowledgeable, but nothing out of the ordinary
D. Experts, but lacking funds
E. Experts, that have both the time - $$$ - motive to continue doing this
F. Something else entirely

Also, any official statement that the 25q log is not the problem but the DDos?
our friendly neighbours from Raven, that definetely love us and are totally not behind the DDos, wrote this in their discord

Assuming the quest log change would be the reason is genuine crazytalk. Cmon man, the serverdowns clearly follow the typical DDoS pattern. I've experienced other servers getting ddos'd and other pservers going down due to fishy modifications to the client. It doesnt feel the same. The server couldnt be stable for days on end, if the questlog modification was the cause. Just unreasonable to make this argument.
I'm not saying that you'd be completely wrong and this couldnt cause issues in the future; but this is definitely not the reason for the serverdowns.

On your question, who's doing this: It must be someone who both has a lot of money/resources AND a lot of knowledge; or someone so rich that he hired someone with this knowledge. its definitely neither amateurs nor a few angry devs of another small pserver. It's people with time, money, resources, dedication, and a lot of knowledge.
These attacks cost a lot of money, or require you yourself to have something like a botnet. That they keep going for weeks speaks books. And if Ravencraft really is just a small independent pserver, then theres no way they are behind this. Whats ofc possible is that someone else rich is behind Ravencraft...

I find it highly likely that the pserver and bot mafia set up their own private servers, you know...

I feel like I'm only allowed to play this game in 3-minute snapshots. I got kicked off last night in the middle of the Barrens, gave up on logging back in after about 30 minutes of futile attempts. Try to get on again just now...actually loads in! I run maybe 100 yards towards the Crossroads, and kicked again! Crazy.

The fact that SEA characters from twow were transferred over just days after it shut down.. Definitely with Capy, not Octo.
