Assuming that DDOS attack is very cheap to perform, there is one illogical conclusion:
why do the first attacks occured in time when there were most of players online, that is EU evening?

If we assume that some big companies are behind these attacks (Raven or Blizzard, let's not argue who), why were they targeting Octo only at specific time of the day? What stops them from stunning Octo 24/7 straight for one week instead of spreading this out over a longer period of time? I can't believe they don't have enough money if these attacks are so cheap. It doesn't make sense to me.

However, if these companies aren't guilty and one guy is behind this DDOS, that would mean that one psychopath with small amount of money could lock entire private server. Then why didn't this happen to other private servers in the past especially knowing that there were many dramas around them?

Because by first being annoying they start corrupting people's trust and then increase pressure to create despair and make them see it's not getting better, so they look for other options. Psychological warfare.

DDoS did happen to most other servers and they've put in place countermeasures. Those other servers also now got caught, c&d/sued and shutdown, partly because the effective countermeasure companies snitched on them. So Octo is looking for a shady alternative, and the process thus isn't what you'd expect from a clean professional company.

We just have to keep touching grass until the upgrade happens.

hi i just am a new player on the server who found it after ascension annouced it shutdowns, i tried grimfall classless, kronos wow, and then i found this server,

and let me tell you, the fact that this server is worth for someone to put effort in and DDos it, makes me want to play even more, it makes the server feel special and worthy, defintely not dying, no one would ddos a dying server. so keep up the good work and i would like to donate so i could buy the mobile bank but i dont have any crypto assets/wallets, maybe there is another option in the future

why do so many nocoiners treat crypto like its some inaccessible black magic
its literally more accessible than any bank in the world.

there will hopefully never be a non-crypto donation, crypto is what protects us from blizzard following a money trail

It's a good thing Ravencraft doesnt have an official forums. We (Octowow players) would all be over there telling them how awful they are. The people running it, the people rallying behind their bullshit logic.

Wether or not it can be proven that they're ordering the ddos attacks, there is no coincidence that their server opened up the week that the ddos attacks started.

as far as i know they are required to have KyC and i dont like it honestly to show my passport to some webcam and stuff, if you know a way to purchase donation points here without KyC im happy to spend like 20-30 bucks for that portable bank^^

..And frankly, their pvp server has so low pop it doesn't come as a surprise that ddossing Octo still continues.
Tested yesterday prime time to see how much they have "stolen" ppl from here, and allmost choked on my coffee;
34 players in alliance side.

Seems like ppl DO identify shit when they see some.
