If you guys beat this DDOS crap, you’ll beat everything =)
IMHO it needs to be solved at ISP side, not server. DDOS traffic should not even reach server side. Until you didnt get it, ddos will continue

Your server has become unplayable. There are millions of annual profit for you and your competition. Attack Ravencraft as well until they compromise. There won;t be a resolution favourable to you otherwise. Pay for War or Lose.

We feel very secure at the moment about the longevity of our project. We have not seen anything that would jeopardize the project long term, and as long as there is an anonymous community to continue to hold the distributed backups that we make daily, this server will live on. We still have all 8 Knowledge Keepers.

We do rely on FlokiNet to host our servers. We do not rely on FLokiNet to keep us anonymous or to keep our game backed up. If FlokiNet tomorrow was purchased by Blizzard just to get to us, they would have no more information than an email address and the servers (with multiple layers of encryption) that themselves contain no identifying information about any involved developers/contributors.

We cannot make statements about potential legal action against other servers as we have no more insight into that than anyone else. Legal actions like the ones we received are only public if the parties make them public. We can only say that we have received attention and our structure ensured that we are protected.
This is really good to hear.

Kestrel wrote: Tue Sep 08, 2026 11:54 pm It has come to our attention that the largest of our community Discord servers has been shut down after an unjust and absurd legal threat was made against the community member(s) who run it.

The OctoWoW team has no additional insight into this incident, and we have no control or special access to any of the community run Disord servers.

This is a stark reminder of why Discord, social media accounts, and even services like Cloudflare are not safe for any private server archivist/creator.

We also want to take this time to re-iterate our gratefulness for our service provider FlokiNet. The last few weeks have been tough, and part of that is the trade off we made when we architected this anonymous structure.

We have seen some in the community lament the speed at which we are able to get hardware changes made. We view this as a worthy trade off for the security and anonymity that we have. Our service provider FlokiNet has been instrumental to our ability to host the server, and they have been supportive of our legal rights in a way that most providers could never.

One of our first correspondences (over three months ago) with the FlokiNet Support Team was them forwarding us a domain name dispute Blizzard made in an attempt to gain control of our domain. This included a (standard) €1,000 dispute fee that would be paid by Blizzard if they complied. FlokiNet threw the documents in the trash so to speak.

Again, thank you for all your hard work. I hope this behavior stops soon, either way I am sticking with you all.
