As an outsider you sound like a loot whore. You SRed Anasterian's and tried to take what most people agree is a DPS item as a tank spec. Your argument that SGC and Earthen Might is BIS is a bad one. It would take 1-3 days of PVP to get the combatant chest piece which is worlds better. That's just lazy and dishonest.

That's an incredibly stupid argument, and it's pure hindsight.

Nobody knew two weeks ago how long the DDoS attacks would continue or how badly they would affect the server. You don't get to pretend that the outcome was obvious after the fact and then blame people for making a decision based on what they knew at the time.

If your argument is seriously "you chose to keep playing, therefore it's your own fault when the server kills your character", then by that logic players should simply stop playing every time the server has stability issues. That's not a serious solution.

And you're still completely missing the actual point: I made multiple tickets about the problems caused by the DDoS attacks. They were ignored. I contacted a GM directly, was told to make a ticket, and that ticket was ignored too.

Nobody is demanding that the devs magically stop a DDoS attack. The criticism is about the complete lack of support for players who are losing progress because of it.

So before you start lecturing people about "just being patient", maybe understand what they're actually complaining about first. The fact that you can only respond with "that's on you" doesn't make your argument correct — it just makes it obvious that you have nothing useful to add.
"Nobody knew two weeks ago how long the DDoS attacks would continue or how badly they would affect the server."

Yeah, exactly, no one knew. My first thought wouldn't then be "Okay, now is the best time to play an HC/Slow and Steady character!", again this is free, you don't have to play those challenge characters now. Most of us can't play anything at all due to the DDOS, so maybe just play another game, or do literally anything else for awhile.

"then by that logic players should simply stop playing every time the server has stability issues."

I mean... yeah, obviously. You're not gonna live forever bro, why spend all day trying to login to a game experiencing a DDOS. Life is precious. Try reading books, there's some truly amazing ones out there.

"The GMs ignored my tickets!"
Yeah, probably because we're in the middle of a DDOS situation and they're getting about 2000 tickets a day. Not to mention, the DDOS itself probably makes it difficult for them to send a reply.

"Nobody is demanding that the devs magically stop a DDoS attack. "

When the discord channel existed there were players on every single day of the DDOS so far asking the devs to magically stop it. These kind of demands were in fact non stop.

"The criticism is about the complete lack of support for players who are losing progress because of it."
They've given updates virtually every single day, they gave us a free pet, and they said they would look at future compensation when the DDOS is actually over, which completely makes sense, and they said that really early on. You are completely misconstruing the situation and the dev's response to it.

"So before you start lecturing people about "just being patient", maybe understand what they're actually complaining about first. The fact that you can only respond with "that's on you" doesn't make your argument correct — it just makes it obvious that you have nothing useful to add."

Sorry if it came off as a lecture, but your response to it is SO over dramatic to be laughable, you're clearly just having an emotional response to something that is a frustrating situation for everyone and you're just lashing out at the devs and at me.

Do better.
You really went all in on arguing against things I never said.

Let's make this very simple, because apparently it needs to be.

I play Slow & Steady. I never complained that the devs haven't magically stopped the DDoS. I never said I'm entitled to play without risk. I never said they've done nothing about the DDoS.

My complaint was that I've died multiple times because of the DDoS, submitted multiple tickets about the consequences, had them ignored, contacted a GM directly, was told to submit a ticket, and then had that ticket ignored too.

That's it. That's the point.

Your response is basically: "You should have known the DDoS would continue, so don't play." Except you just admitted that nobody knew how long it would continue. So you're using hindsight to blame someone for a decision they made without having information that didn't exist at the time.

That's not an argument. That's hindsight.

Then you speculate that my tickets were probably ignored because the GMs are getting 2,000 tickets a day. You don't know that. You have absolutely no idea why my tickets were ignored, so maybe don't present your guess as if it's a fact.

And yes, the devs have provided updates. Yes, they gave out a pet. Yes, they've talked about compensation. None of that magically answers why the support I was specifically told to use resulted in nothing.

You keep quoting my words, changing what they mean, and then arguing with the version you've created.

And the best part is you finish by telling me to "Do better" while giving me such gems as "go read books" and "life is precious."

The condescending attitude isn't making your argument stronger. It's just making it increasingly obvious that you have no actual answer to the criticism.

So here's some advice you might want to take yourself:

Read what people actually wrote before responding to them. Stop arguing with things they never said. And if you can't do that, maybe don't lecture other people about doing better.

Now we've established what the actual point was. You can stop beating that strawman to death.
You've got 4 posts here, Cry Baby. Are you sure you don't work for Ravencraft?

But that is NOT the issue here, the issue is how the hell did they manage to do a k10 run when the ddos is ongoing 24/7? Thats the question.
SGC biss item for warrior tank untill u get t2 chest. iam played with SGC on amper as deep/fury prot. iam experience warrior and i know whitch item o need on tank or dont
You're claiming a level 52 mail DPS chest piece is Best in Slot for warrior tanks at level 60 until tier 2? That seems unlikely...
I love it when an expert who doesn’t understand but still intervenes. Yes SGC bis option for threat on warrior. u can find many def options but u cant find better threat option on chest. and yes its best option. Kara chest have little bit more armor and stamina so its can be more balanced for sustain. I dont need explain warrior min/max for get my items. but i still sayed about coflict, not about gear. he can say me politely about it. but they choosed conflict.

I personally did not appreciate being threatened by a gamemaster over this issue while the server was experiencing massive ddos.

https://imgur.com/0KWYbOU

For context here is the ticket I opened to reach said GM, that seemed to have resolved the issue.

"Hello,

A GM by the name of Arlekino was trying to contact me earlier about a loot issue in a run earlier. Since I kind of assume what this is about I would appreciate if you could attach the following message from me to the ticket, or hand it to the GM.

The run was MS>OS, 2sr. I was confused by the warrior tank rolling MS on the mail chest with dps stats, as where some of the other raid members as seen in raid chat. I asked in guildchat if that item is ever a MS roll for a tank and going by the responses I decided to give the item to the second highest roller. There was already confusion about what constitutes MS or OS rolls a boss earlier about a cloth headpiece as can also be seen in raidchat. The warrior tank that this issue is about as I assume also rolled transmog (/roll 98) on a trinket earlier and then was confused about why he didn't win that item over someone rolling OS. I have to admit that the server instability and a general frustration with the warriors gameplay and chat behavior might have influenced my decision making at that point as seen by what I wrote in chat at the time.
If the GM team judges I was wrong in my decision making on not giving the warrior tank the mail dps items then I am fully ok with that and I appologize for the time this issue took up.

Kind regards,
Xiriah"
