You think all this and me not going to Classic+ will finally tell em? I somehow have my doubts.
Should listen to a complaint eventually.

Haven't tried this yet but I'll give it a shot, Kestrel told me himself they are working on the issue at least. They are aware and are trying to fix it from their end for us noobies.Andort wrote: Sun Sep 13, 2026 1:15 amThanks for this it worked on my PC! if anyone knows the equivalent linux workaround, i would love to play on my steam deckYofi80 wrote: Sat Sep 12, 2026 10:18 am For those who cant connect to normal server:
1)Open Notepad as admin (right click it and run as admin)
2) Open file C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts (check *.* to see all files)
3) At the end of a file add:
92.114.107.47 hc.octowow.st
185.165.170.59 normal.octowow.st
92.114.107.48 pvp.octowow.st

well thats good to hear. Its ok to have a fix, its just ass slappage for people who either are too clinically retarded to figure it out on their own. Or just outright don't have access to fixes.Ciggitybutts wrote: Sun Sep 13, 2026 2:06 amHaven't tried this yet but I'll give it a shot, Kestrel told me himself they are working on the issue at least. Yea I already told him I don't use VPNs. But for people willing to that's good. Just wait otherwise then :S Frustrating, trust IK, I was staring at that screen for 12 hours yesterday and got in once.Rtas wrote: Sun Sep 13, 2026 2:25 amwell thats good to hear. What is going on. I can not log in to PVE server and if I get lucky to log in I can play maybe 5 min and then i am getting disconnected. Half of my guild is not responding. On guild discord channel they already want to move to different server.Kestrel wrote: Sat Sep 12, 2026 1:19 am Not a whole lot more information for everyone.
We are not yet on our new hardware. We have continued our work to try to protect from the DDoS best we can with what we have access to. Expect an update early next week with a specific time.
I wasn't familiar with it, I guess it points to those IP addresses which are supposedly the pve/pvp/HC realms. BUt since Octo apparently doesn't publish their IP addresses, it could be a random server that loads your computer with viruses. I don't think this step is even necessary to connect, the issues are on the server end, not your computer and files.Ciggitybutts wrote: Sun Sep 13, 2026 2:06 amHaven't tried this yet but I'll give it a shot, Kestrel told me himself they are working on the issue at least. I would honestly wait if you aren't comfortable with going into these files. Idk what notepad does here so I'm personally not.
Yea I didn't end up doing it. Wasn't sure if the post was genuine so the "I'll give it a shot" really didn't hold true.Tesikisback wrote: Sun Sep 13, 2026 12:32 pmI wasn't familiar with it, I guess it points to those IP addresses which are supposedly the pve/pvp/HC realms.
