Tauren Paladins

Tauren believe that they are but a small part of "The Great Balance", and that they are little more than guardians of nature where unnatural elements emerge. This is a respect and understanding of nature but it is nowhere near the presumptive benevolence for a paladin. Taurens dont preach, they teach.

Historically, yes. But many Tauren have sat by and watched the rest of the Azeroths struggles, and some surely would emerge from that with a new respect for the how bad things can get when "The Great Balance" is threatened.

No society is completely monolithic either. Some surely would want to help maintain "The Great Balance" by taking up arms in support of the Light, having seen the darkness encroaching on their lands.

And while Tauren are naturally more peaceful and less assertive, well, even the most stoic of individuals can be pushed too far by the forces of evil.

This isn't how it works. People from a place don't suddenly adopt an entirely new structure of belief based around concepts alien to their nation. Tauren are not a people defined by law, judgement, kings, or even sanctuary. Most, if not all of the abilities of a Paladin are thematically and aesthetically alien to a Tauren. Tauren also look absolutely dogarse in every single Paladin set and even after 15 or so years Blizzard only managed to make one or two sets that didn't look like crap on a Tauren. Tauren are NOT designed to be Paladins.

A Tauren who wanted to take up arms to defend the "The Great Balance" would become a Druid. Sunwalkers work way better as a sect of Druids who employ sun-based iconography and magic over Elune's moon-based fare.

I personally don't think we should get shamans/paladins for the other faction, but if we did I think Undead would be much more interesting given the lore around them, and undead paladin being canon to vanilla with people like Sir Zeliek, or many other undead who are found using the Light.

I mean it was a joke, sure-- trolling though? Nah. I mean I very much disagree with what he said, but I didn't want to get into some debate about how cultures and societies have rarely if ever at any point in history been completely monolithic and that there are hundreds if not thousands of examples of people or groups of people adopting entirely new structures of belief throughout history but if I'm being real that's a not really a debate I'm interested in having on the forum of a Private WoW server.

i love the idea of tauren paladin! i think it makes a lot of sense lorewise too since theyd just be more like melee sun worshippers! for fairness id also really love to see night elf shaman!!!

And to be absolutely clear, using an ad hominem is very low tier "debating" tactics. Very commonly used on Twitter. So the fact that you didn't even attempt to engage with the substance of what I said and projected your own inadequacies onto me is extremely amusing.

Here's a summary. You said this;

That is objectively untrue and there are hundreds of examples throughout history to prove you wrong. So I responded explaining that I'm not really interested in getting into a debate about it, mostly because it's just basic history and isn't really up for debate.
