Please Learn why NOT to let BLIZZARD sell your data

It has been difficult watching servers being attacked.
Watching EA and mega-companies turn gaming into micro transactions and targetted ads.
Software they say you don't actually own. Well I bought WoW software.
Blizzard cannot revisionist history us.

Those who love wow have crafted worlds in Ascention, TurlteWoW and even MANGOS servers.
As we are allowed to do.

With lawyers bullying days leading up to a Blizzcon full of streamers who make irritating clickbait.
We sit there to watch a tone-deaf 2026 Blizzard sell what true fans created over decades now and brand as theirs.

Give in to DDOS or the blood money to play as an avatar-elf that has no bearing on the lore of the world. Whatever.
But know just how corrupt the company behind your logon is with selling your info. It is clearly listed here

https://www.blizzard.com/en-us/legal/7f ... g-partners

To save you some awful browsing just take LiftOff as one example of a company that has claimed about $750 million per MONTH by purely reselling private data. Read further and see that they really "try" to not sell data of anyone under 16 but really that's more your problem than theirs with that &750 million per month.

Our workdays are long and we do not need to spend the short period of gaming time on fighting corporate villans.
Please be positive that there are a few places that are working to create a world where you can relax and game and find a little joy in this world.

Thank you OctoWoW - we do appreciate those who fight for good and expect nothing in return.

Great post. I want to add that Blizzard is now property of Microsoft. Also, Blizzard's (former?) CEO was flown on multiple occasions to Epstein's island.

When you buy anything from Blizzard, you're actively licking the boots of the Epstein class.

Do you have an example of private data I should be worried about while playing World of Warcraft?

Is the sad truth of any single triple A company and the internet of nowadays.
Pretty much any single "big" MMO do the exact same thing :)
If Blizzard is still alive there is many reason under that garbage company, but people sadly don't care too much and still continue to give money and data to those huge laundry machine xD
I stop giving money to blizzard at the end of Wrath (2010) and was the best choice of my life xD
Overall good some share this type of info, people need to learn how dirty they are not just blizzard :P

Guys, I heard from a friend through GMAIL that he saw a video on YOUTUBE about a guy who GOOGLED information on how Blizzard sells data.

So of course I talked to my friends about it on DISCORD, posted the warning on FACEBOOK, and checked REDDIT from my ANDROID phone before opening CHROME on my WINDOWS PC to play on an unofficial World of Warcraft server operated by anonymous strangers.

Thankfully, I have avoided the corrupt corporate villains and entrusted my personal information to the one truly incorruptible institution left in modern society:

A private WoW server.

If it isn't the typical whataboutism that comes around whenever someone points to a particular problem. You're assuming a LOT of things there, pal.

I, for one, don't use gmail, google, discord, facebook, reddit, android, chrome or windows. I sometimes use youtube because, unfortunately, they have pretty much a monopoly, but I try to use alternatives like Odysee as much as possible. But that's neither here nor there.

If someone shares information about a specific thing you'd be better off avoiding, barking "BUT I'M SURE YOU DO ALL THESE OTHER THINGS WRONG, CHECKMATE LOSER" just comes off as arrogant and short-sighted. I already knew not to trust Blizzard, since it's owned by Activision which is owned by Microsoft (and a laundry list of other scummy things), but I'm grateful that OP is sharing important information about their data harvesting operations.

Regarding your mocking disdain of a private WoW server as "the one truly incorruptible institution left in modern society", I trust them way, way more than any disgusting corpo like Microsoft.

A piss-poor attempt that comes across as you deriding OP.
