Wizzle wrote: Thu Sep 10, 2026 6:57 pm I don't seem to understand the purpose here in that case. Do you not accept a villainous role as the twink in a bracket? I know back in 2006 when I made twinks, I knew I was behaving in an unwashed manner. Why do you demand respect from the people you are, effectively, cyber bullying?

Can you help me understand what you want out of this thread/conversation? There's obviously not enough of a population of twinks that will play BGs with you in a specialized queue(even across both servers), and I highly doubt any server level action is going to be taken against/for twinks, so what are these threads even about? Are we all just letting off steam on the forums?
Before we go further, just to be clear, you don't play low level BGs right? So you don't actually know the regular's I see every day, you've got no first hand experience of queue times or what the 30-39 bracket is like?
Deflection? I'm really trying my hardest to engage you earnestly, but you aren't making this easy. How about you answer my question first as a show of good faith
So that's for sure a no, you don't actually play low level BGs.

So this was the point of my original post:

"I've been reading some version of "Twinks ruin pvp" for about two decades now, and just wanted to share my experience playing here on Octo and on TWOW specifically.

On both servers I play a 39 night elf feral druid. On both servers I have/had no characters higher than level 39.

On TWOW with full buffs (booze, food, elixirs, zg world buff, dmf stam buff, 60 priest stam, 60 druid motw, kings) I was able to get over 8k HP in bear form. So far on Octo I've made it up to 7.79k HP.

My gear on both is amazing for the level. I have all my professions 300/300. I fish, herb and chop trees in high level areas (55-60) on my level 39, and the profits from doing so bankroll the operation.

My point being, anyone can twink. You don't need a level 60 farming gold for you to be able to do it. Which to me means when I hear, "twinking ruins pvp!" that just translates to "people who take the time to get the best gear and enchants are better than players who CHOOSE not to do that!" which isn't a very hot take.

If you wanna queue 30-39 BGs at lvl 31 with 800 HP, it's not my fault you're not having a good time.

Maybe instead of trying to entice the dev's to do something to stop twinking (what would this even mean?? anyone with good gear just can't queue or something?), turn off XP at 39 (or whichever bracket you want to play) and take a few days acquiring best in slot gear and enchanting it. Might take you a week or so and then you'll be having way more fun in BGs and contributing to a way more fun and competitive bracket."

It's pretty easy to understand. I am here responding to the claim the twinks ruin pvp by suggesting it doesn't have to ruin pvp because anyone can twink, it's an easy thing to do, I got all the things I have now in very little time with very little effort compared to many other aspects of the game.

And if what I'm doing is "cyberbulling" (jesus fucking christ...) then they are crybulling. They've all been insulting since the get go, ignoring my arguments and lying about what I have in fact said, and attributing the worst intentions to what I do.

Alright dude, I'm done being nice with you. It's not easy to understand, because you're 1 step above illiterate and making it everyone else's problem. I was trying to ask you to rephrase what you said because it's an emotional, jumbled mess that has literally zero point behind it. You want to defend your behavior as something anyone can do. Yes, anyone can spend hours twinking up for a bg bracket they plan on spending maybe 1 week in. This is not some magical bullet of a point that makes everyone else have to stop making fun of you. You're behaving like you're owed a community that enjoys playing 39 bgs with you.

TLDR: You're mad that they're mad? Holy shit stop grandstanding and acting like you're better than everyone else.

Oh! Oh! He's taking the kid gloves off folks! Now I'm really gonna get it!

Sorry friend, if you don't play low level BGs, I can't imagine why I would care what your take on them is. You're acting like a fool by trying to make it seem like twinking is some terrible form of abuse or villany, when it's just an easy fun part of the game. Get over it. Or don't, I don't really give a shit.

I'd say "See you in BGs!" but you don't actually play anyway.

Have fun slinging smack from the cheap seats.

Completely illiterate. Reads 2 sentences someone else posts, quotes his entire wall of text, and expects anyone to give a fuck about what he's saying.

This guy showed over and over extremely narcissistic traits. You cannot argue with narcissists. It is impossible to reach them.

I leveled up 5 characters on Ambershire on BGs only and I have to say that twinks are not a problem at all, the exception is when they queue as a premade group. I bought some decent green gear from AH, some cheap HP pots and the only enchantments I had were Armor Kit. It was very enjoyable.
It's always funny when you see half-naked players without Insignia or mounts crying about someone else's gear. Of course you suffer in PvP. You can't be effective without spending a certain amount of resources or time. It's not twinks' fault that you're greedy and cheap. When you reach level 60, will you also cry because someone else is better equipped?

Anyone can show up to dinner and put their dick in the mashed potatoes. That doesn't make it acceptable if someone does it and says "hey you can do it too!"

But that type of dinner party could probably exist for people who are into that if the demand is high enough!

The reality is, people who enjoy fair fights don't twink. You're free to twink all you want, it's unfortunately a feature of this game, but acting like other players are lazy or unskilled for not twinking is absurd. You've also implied that people who'd rather not do BGs on lower levels are just filthy PvE casuals, and that's incredibly dishonest.
Most people like the natural flow of the game; steadily leveling up while doing things for fun, one of them being PvP.

You can be very good at PvP and still get unfair matches, just because you haven't min-maxed every last thing to perfection doesn't mean that you're a worse player in any way. Most people don't bother doing that at lower levels because they're going to leave those levels behind soon, making it very much not worth their time (especially if you have a life outside of the game). Most people aren't sweaty optimizers who'd rather get confined to a tiny portion of the game for the sake of gaining an unfair advantage over others.

I find the claim that you'd like your own bracket of level 39 twinks absolutely unbelievable. That would completely defeat the purpose of twinking. When everyone's a twink, no one's a twink, that's why you don't want to reach 60, I suspect. You claim you're competitive and that's why you put in the effort to twink. That's a bold-faced lie. You twink because you don't like competition. What you'd say if you were honest with yourself would be that you enjoy dominating others. If you truly enjoyed competition, you'd seek fair fights, but you don't, because you'd rather just win. And if winning can only be achieved by acquiring considerable upgrades that most others aren't going to bother getting (and you know they won't), then that's fine by you, because you don't like competition.

Other people aren't scrubs for not behaving like yourself, if anything, saying that sort of thing only makes it seem like you're projecting. If the most enjoyable PvP for you is with big stat advantages, you're probably not that great on your own.

I read two pages of this thread. The main takeaway I got is the OP trying to argue that Twinking isn't actually a real problem, because he does it at level 39. Therefore trying to prove that just because you can do it at any level it makes it NOT an actual problem, therefore anyone who isn't doing it is somehow a worse player because of it.

... Which makes absolutely zero sense. It's like trying to say that grannies being mugged isn't a real problem because anyone, even the grannies, can mug one another.

It doesn't matter if "Anyone can do it", because the main problem with twinking is that it is one of those things that only a select few people in a playerpool will go through the means and effort to min-max for a bracket that is ultimately a temporary spot if they are actually looking to do something other than PvP in lower brackets.
So when someone decides they want to do a bit of casual PvP to spice up their leveling, only to then get thrown into a match full of level x9 players who spent all their time ensuring they will be at the peak of possible power... That player isn't going to have a very fun time, I'll put it like that.

So it comes off really tone-deaf and rather malicious to shrug that off and say "Oh well the one not twinking is actually the problem because he doesn't want to put effort into it", and then get into arguments with people over it just comes off as cringe.
There is always a story to be told, in the heart of the soul.
