as someone that dislikes "yappers" and usually disables world chat
imho, demoting Pig is the wrong move (obviously without knowing what was internally discussed)

Maybe he yapped a little too much sometimes or even mistakenly presented his own opinions as the ones of the Dev team
but

a GM that likes to talk and interacts with the player base is something that brings back memories
and shouldn't be voided from the community

Ok, he made some wrong decisions, but it's obvious that he is passionate and loves what he is doing
Personally, i prefer a "human" GM with his mistakes, than a "robot" replying "thank u for your patronage" and zero interaction

Apart from that, as a GM, he gonna be criticized for his actions, even if they were 100% justified
The bloodthirsty crowd was asking for his head, but let's not forget, that among those critisizing him are also the salty-jealous players (who were muted by him for example) and found the opportunity to harm his popularity

Don't let the trolls win, GM Pig should learn from his mistakes and should be given a second chance (if he desires it though)
Peace out!

Forget about the fact that during the "dark ages of toxicity", online gaming thrived and flourished: starcraft, warcraft, counter strike, call of duty, wow etc.

However, apparently, in this brave new era, we have "evolved" as humans and can't handle shit talking, lol talking and general toomfoolery in a simple online chat.

16 year of pure cringeworthy hypocrisy.
Best way to describe the Cancel culture BS. It's destroys communities it doesnt help anyone.
Pure projection. In other words - "if you have a differing opinion than me you're toxic and should be cancelled." XD. Translated your post for anyone else who's reading.

My experiences with Pig *as a GM* were always positive. I would like to see Pig back as a GM.

In the meantime, Don is doing a fine job as well.

Darktifa,

Pig failed to maintain required boundaries and impartiality with players alongside making inappropriate jokes during his time as a GM. There is a fine line between "talkative" and incompetent for the given role and responsibilities.

Honestly I'm laughing so hard at this community. I've been gone for a few days and come back to the entire server up in a roar because a couple of shitposters (Chromie/Icantkite) are baiting them for whatever reason.

In my view the rationale for Pig's demotion is so insignificant it's mind boggling, I've only ever had good interactions with Pig since I joined the server earlier on. Lord help us when a GM gets prosecuted for having a personality and not some mindless drone.

At this point, though I do agree with the demotion, I'm also in favor of having Pig back. He seemed the most active in moderating world, and the last few days has been a genuine cesspool of every type of bigotry. Thinly veiled racism, open racism, fairly common slurs, pick a -phobic, outright nazi shit, the works. Saw some blatant sexual harassment today too.

I would much rather have an unprofessional GM on his second chance than the current vile mess.

Have no issues with Pig being social and fun in world chat. But when things slide into the DMs and personal details are discussed, it crosses the line. Am also pretty sure we're all aware of the dynamic that can (might not always) happen when a man thinks there's a girl on the internet.
