So, Ragnaros has gone down for the Alliance on the PvP realm too. Let's sum things up a bit.
We’ve got a custom addition to the standard Classic PvP mode. War Mode is everywhere now, and Rogues and Priests have even more advantages in the open world.
There are very few people on the PvP server. If you get into a fight with a guild, you’re fighting the whole server.
But the PvE realm has cross-faction play! I think that’s a huge plus! It’s time to stop messing around in 2026! One, two, three—let's go!
However, if I toggle /pvp on, I still can't attack players from my own faction.
Let's say this out loud one more time: the server is cross-faction, all progress is cross-faction, even the chat is cross-faction, yet /pvp isn't FFA.
So, it turns out I’m an idiot. No, seriously, I just don’t get it. On classic "vanilla" PvP—even with the added buffs for classes that already have the upper hand—it would actually be fun to play if there were a player base of, say, at least 2,000 people. All that Horde vs. Alliance roleplay stuff is great and all...
But where are the people who want to play PvP supposed to go? To a dead realm with a population of 300 (at best, on a weekend)? Or to a server with a massive faction imbalance—where achievement progress is unevenly distributed, so everyone just hides behind their faction's skirts? And what’s the point of me turning on /PvP on a PvE server if one faction is simply stronger than the other in terms of overall progression?

I’ve come to the conclusion, guys, that you simply don’t want PvP-oriented players on your project at all. Otherwise, I just can’t explain or make sense of this in any way, shape, or form.
