Whats the best healing class?

Hi, my first time around here.
Havnt been able to find any info on the forums, but what class spec is seen as the "best" or most fun in general?

I used to main Priest back in the day and loved it but I might wanna try something new, but if priest is still the goat, then I need to play it 8-)

Else my mind have been going on Druid or maybe shaman, but im not really a horde enjoyer

Healing in general. No matter what, I used to heal way more than any other classes as priest, even gainst T3 geared paladins with a mix of AQ40 and naxx gear in original classic

My personal ranking would be Paladin > Priest > Shaman > Druid but any good roster will have all of them because they all bring something to the table. Raw throughput though would always be Paladins first, following by Priests, with Shamans and Druids close behind. I feel that for raw throughput Paladins shine, and the other three are all pretty close together for that.

Composition wise though you're going to want chain heals going out, you're going to want to have HOTs, you're going to want to have a spread of healing abilites. I wouldn't try forming a raid with just Paladin healers for example.

But if I had to choose "best" in a general sense I would say Paladin. However there's also a bazillion Paladins. Resto Shamans will likely be in higher demand. Totems are extremely powerful for group composition and looking at the player census Shamans are pretty under represented. Priests and Druids would also likely end up being in higher demand.

Thanks for posting a more detailed opinion.
In other posts, I have read between the lines that its almost impossible to get any gear as paladin because they are so overrepresented 😅 Im on the verge of maybe rolling a shaman, but thats only due to chain heals 😅

I mean yeah there are a lot of Ret Paladins for sure but they can still roll against you for your Tier pieces.

The Paladin tier pieces are especially obnoxious in Naxxramus where you're not only competing against other Paladins but also Shaman, Hunters, and Druids. And in AQ40 they require the most contested Idols.

I don't think it's controversial to say that Paladins are the hardest class to gear out. I definitely wouldn't say "almost impossible" but it's a factor to keep in mind.

It's definitely an issue that I've seen push a couple Paladins away from playing.

I can highly recommend Shaman, I mained Resto Shaman on Turtle and it was good. I'll be real I always did feel a bit neglected in comparison to Paladins, and even Priests considering that they got quite a nice make over with the Timbermaw class changes prior to Turtle shutting down. Chain Heal is strong though, but you'll be casting it 90% of the time lol so you better not mind that. It's a strong class that has a lot of flexibility for your offspecs, and it'll basically always be in high demand. You can't go wrong with Shaman.

Yeah okay. Im still in the process of seing what is fun to level as well and long term gameplay. Because no matter what, I need to be able to farm gold too.

I played shaman a little bit and then druid and damn druid is harsh until you get cat form

I'm pretty biased towards Shaman. I'm playing a Paladin myself this time around because I was Rsham on Turtle for a couple years, but there's a lot I miss about the Shaman to be honest.

I really enjoy Enhancement spec first of all, It's just a fun build. I enjoy leveling as it.

If you're into multiboxing Druid might be the strongest because their HOTs are easier to work with in that kind of scenario. Druids also aren't bad for farming as they can do many Stealth runs to get certain things.

Priests would probably be the worst for farming.

And yeah Druids you would want to level as Feral, Shaman as Enhancement.
