Proxyone wrote: Sat Aug 01, 2026 12:54 pm I agree with what you're saying. Just as a mention though :) could GMs not mute people for saying things in guild chat? one of our members got muted for saying something in guild chat. I believe its the guilds responsibility and its officers to receive those reports. I for one don't like my guild members reporting our own guild members instead of bringing the problem to me.
I agree Moderators/GM's should not be muting for in guild chat, I have sent out some additional communication internally about this and confirmed it is on our moderation guidelines now explicitly. Thank you for bringing this to our attention!
The GM who did that was Jus/Ius and without any warning gave me 24hrs mute, it was my first "offense" ??? in guild chat? Made a ticket to speak with another GM, same Jus/Ius responds, goes on a power trip with me to not abuse ticket system. Got screenshots of the whole interaction.

In the sake of transparency I will reply that the mute to Totemstylez was removed by me in the same conversation when it was issued after looking a bit more and turning it into a warning. So please don't spread false information or at least half information.

Perfect, i would love GMs muting people way faster than they do, world chat is not supposed to be like/worse than 4chan/reddit, go somewhere else to spill your political BS

aaaaand ..... this perfectly shows how Totemstylez acts in bad faith, as most worldchat abusers.

"after looking a bit more " you mean after i had to make a ticket to further ask why i got un unjust mute so you can remove it after ? Do you know the difference between a warning and punishment or is it not clear how to apply the rules as a GM? Now remove that warning too that was for nothing.

You get into the conversation without reading whats all about, i dont engage in World chat and the problem here wasnt on World Chat so... go back to your world chat.

I agree, as Kestrel stated earlier finding the exact line is not easy and partially subjective. Personally I would draw it much earlier, a one hour mute is also nothing. Providing only half the information or framing events is to tiring, its easy to read as disingenous acting in bad faith. OP does this as well.

Please leave the disney cartoon villains out of this, no one is -gloating-. Urgh leading language.
Toonga1 wrote: Sat Aug 01, 2026 6:17 am ...ban-happy GMs overreaching...
Who has been banned? Bad framing, leading wording, cheap. Ew.
Toonga1 wrote: Sat Aug 01, 2026 6:17 am I've heard many times from other people that they've received even longer mutes for less. Seems to be based on how angry the GM is at the time.
All this is a nothing-burger. I also heard many times, many different things, that is not helpful communication at all. Also like we have seen in unban requests and here: people aren't honest about what they did or lack understanding. So people saying I got banned to long for basically nothing is questionable at best. Projecting a motivation onto people "GMs are mean to me because they are ANGERY" is just eh... okay buddy.

Really weird that people rush into these threads to desperately defend GMs. It’s good to point out frustrations and call out unprofessional and unequal interactions to help the server and team improve. Just because you never get a mute doesn’t mean that the system is perfect or that some instances dont deserve more attention. Without some amount of pushback you end up with some really toxic over moderation and I’m very happy kestrel is able to look at these calmly and take such issues into consideration.

Look, people are not presenting "some amount of pushback" they provide weird, biased hyperbole and after typing down some half-phrases, lacking any argument (see earlier examples) they feel entitled to have community guidelines that fit -them-. It's a sad smokeshow.

What is even "toxic over moderation" meant to be? Can you give detailed examples what shouldn't be moderated and why?

After all you state that discurs should be free, but any diverting opinion is already "Really weird that people rush into these threads to desperately defend GMs.".
