When a server is being attacked like this, listening to everything you hear is also not a good play. You do you though.

This, it's just super annoying I can't reliably do my thing, be it farming, mog hunting or whatever, I flat out decided to opt out of dungeons till the virgin DDOS'sers are taken care of.

That was 1st or 2nd week of Octo launch
and Archer was referring to reddit mods deleting posts about Octo on "wow servers"

Eventually everyone realized that Octo wasn't a scam, but the fact remains
There is a "mafia", which is notorious of ddosing other servers in the past
and will use any means necessary to bring down the opposition

While this may be true, you know another company fully capable. One that loves to just post random gibberish.

Either way it's not making me go to either one, really considering single player.

Yup, we were doing Windhorn Canyon through todays ddos, slow and steady (almost 3hours because of all the interruptions), killed last boss and were wiped during process due to pre-DC lags. Body disappeared before full party made it all the way to the top - so yeah, I will wait with dungeons till the issue is resolved aswell.

Are you talking about Blizzard? They're not going to stoop to DDoSing a small private server. It's illegal and not worth the risk. In the future just say the company name so people don't have to guess or ask you to confirm it? It makes for a much easier conversation lol.

Simple counter argument, how would they ever be found out, if the DDoS attacks are a darkweb bought service carried out by someone else? And have you considered that Blizzard is led by individual people and that people are petty, the richer the pettier?

The Bot/pserver mafia however (from what Ive heard its supposed to be the same people) is indeed a very very likely other suspect, considering that octo is independent and bans botters consistently. the bot mafia must be pissed about this, and this would absolutely explain the intensity of the attacks.

Nonetheless; these attacks cost money, so they will stop at some point,no matter whos behind them.
