That's legit even worse. What the fuck are they thinking? Are they on crack?!
Even though I kinda liked pandaria in its own way... they do know that MoP was the tipping point for WoW?
One race split between two factions is incredibly bad IMO, and completely not in the spirit of vanilla.

Wait wtf the skyborne are going to be in the horde?! I didn't even know that lol. Where did you see that info about shamans and so on?
And I have to agree, even though I don't like and don't play horde. The old vanilla horde was savage and a bunch of misfits and "rejects" trying to find its place in a new world. And while I do see how blood elves kinda fit there, I still don't like that. I'd rather have regular High elves join the alliance like we have here, and then have something else for the horde.
That truly is crazy, man..
It was shown on the stream, Skyborne (even the name is super cringe and pretentious) are indeed going the path of pandaren, and if they go to Horde - they get to be shamans. And they showed elf in shaman gear. It looked hideous.
Horde already has it's "elves", they're called trolls. They fill in the criteria of slender, agile race, without being the actual elves. Which is a big plus in my book, since I am not fan of elves.
Blood elves would've fit the Horde if they didn't have the history of fighting Horde. And I'd say that the consequences of allowing this to happen were quite dire. Horde became unrecognisable, elves were everywhere. I still remember how in WotLK I was the only odd one in the party of elves.
This race alone is massive red flag, a sign on where this game direction is. The stench of retail is real, and to me this is unacceptable.
I also snorted how that woman said that they intended to give each race unique flavour racials. and showed "new" dwarven racial, which was Troll's beast Slaying but with different name.
Makes me wonder if they didn't remove Beast Slaying from trolls. Since Blizzard just loves to take away stuff from them, even their own history.

I feel like private servers like Turlte and Octo paid more respect to the old lore and did it more faithfully than Blizzard themselves.
Who in their right mind would put in their game an undead paladin?!
Meh. Undead Paladin does have a lore foundation, there was a story about it relating to Scarlet Monastery in vanilla lore IIRC. It was just never explored. My main gripe with Undead Paladin and Dwarf Shaman is how it affects faction identity and group compositions. I'd rather Shamans stay on the Horde and Paladin on Alliance.

You say this as a person who plays on a server with cross faction grouping. I was literally in a dungeon not long ago with three Paladins and two Shamans before the server disconnected me and refused to let me log the fuck back in again.

I can't be alone with this thought, have not yet looked for it if anyone wrote that up. What if this turns into a Light's Hope situation? Is there any statement from the devs regarding what if Blizz actually launches classic+ for real, will they continue with octo, will they stop it since there is no longer an 'illegal' need for such a project?
Personnally I actually hoped for Blizz to attack octo pretty hard right away and early on to see if they actually uphold their promise. But this entire thing changes that initial premise, it's an attack from another side really. partially because it seems they concluded it could not be won in a direct legal battle this time, maybe.
I don't want to get burned again this way. An official statement by the devs would clarify alot

I don't know what the devs think, but I sure would say that Octo and Forever are definitely not the same thing, even if it does look like that from far away.
As you can see there are people who do not like what Forever turned out to be. Time will tell of course, but it's not so clear-cut.

They're not really the same at all. Blizzard took a few ideas from Turtle, although to be fair Turtle stole the entire game from Blizzard. I think the case can be made that Blizzard owns any idea related to their IP that another party comes up with.

This is obviously just Retail wearing a Classic skinsuit. The tone of the cinematic is off, it has the same twee flavor to it that is the kiss of death for every other fantasy project. Yes I watched the whole thing, no I am not reacting to a ragebait screenshot from Twitter or Reddit. Something else that really strikes me about it is how flat and generic the sound direction is. Compare to the original Vanilla cinematic, which is iconic. Plus the AAA-slop photorealism over style. But whatever, the cinematic isn't everything.
And I'm not just an unrepentant hater like a lot of people on here are. I saw Dalaran and thought that was cool, and I'm receptive to the idea of Classic+ and might have given it a try. But the reality that I think is sinking in for a lot of people now is that there can't ever BE a Classic+ because the guys who made the original WoW are gone, and Blizzard only knows how to make Retail. There are plenty of signs present in this project. The invention of yet another contrived, fuckass elf race is textbook Retail, as is sticking them onto the Horde so that there's a "non-ugly" race option for them. In general, everything about the Skyborne has a very Retail feel to it, both in how they are presented and how out-of-place they feel. UwU we are wholesome chungus hippie elves you've never heard of before living in the sky and we are SOOOO in touch with the elementals! Like, who gives a fuck man, what does that have to do with the setting? There are soo many established races deserving of their own Classic treatment, like High or Blood Elves, Goblins, Ogres. Fuck it, shoehorn the sexy Avatar aliens into the setting. Christ they're even fucking blue like them, too. It is kind of hilarious that after all this time, even with a clean slate, they will do ANYTHING but put High Elves in the Alliance. I don't know whether to laugh or be outraged at the new elves being paywalled. That, combined with Horde paladin and Alliance shaman is not a good indicator for faction integrity.
I really do not trust these people at all to deliver a good take on Classic+. Part of the problem seems to be that a decent amount of the developers do not actually like WoW and don't share any of the aesthetic preferences that led to its creation, or, perhaps worse, some of them like it too much. There have been compelling theories posited that plenty of the newer stuff in Retail feels like a different game because it is in fact the skeletons of other game stories that were brought over to WoW, which to be fair was what the original devs were doing to an extent. Conversely, when you get fans graduating into working on an IP, the setting can lose some or all of the restraint that keeps it good in the first place as they have their particular theories about what the true essence of the IP is and the power to canonize their own fantasy. Supposedly, Undead paladin is Executive Producer Holly Longdale's wish fulfillment. I've seen people pedantically defending it by pointing to Sir Zeliek in Naxx, overlooking the fact that what makes him interesting is what an exception he is to what is otherwise a rule of the setting: Undead are *forsaken* by the Light. Mark my words, even if it seems like petty nitpicking it is an EXTREMELY bad sign that they are already showing a disregard for design discipline.
TL;DR I haven't seen anything to be excited about other than the idea of Classic+ itself, and Blizzard Presents: Classic+ is not an inherently exciting premise. Moreover, I have seen quite a bit to be disappointed by. I will take Wrath Classic again instead, please and thank you. For everything else there's private servers.
