And to be absolutely clear, using an ad hominem is very low tier "debating" tactics. Very commonly used on Twitter. So the fact that you didn't even attempt to engage with the substance of what I said and projected your own inadequacies onto me is extremely amusing.

That is objectively untrue and there are hundreds of examples throughout history to prove you wrong. So I responded explaining that I'm not really interested in getting into a debate about it, mostly because it's just basic history and isn't really up for debate.

Forsaken have a 1:1 history with the human kingdoms, and with the Paladin orders. They have been Paladins in life, so it makes sense they continue being Paladins in undeath. Yeah, but we still got Undead Priests, so it can't be that bad. And maybe the Paladin is so badass he doesn't care about him hurting, as long as he can uphold his values and help others.

Tauren on the other hand have 0 connection to the Paladin orders from Eastern Kingdoms. Any retroactive lore reasons thought up by the demented Cataclysm developers of them worshiping the sun, and thus the light, is stupid. Yeah, they worship the nature and the celestial bodies, that's the extent of that lore in Vanilla.

I don't believe the game needs an Undead Paladin, I think the Vanilla's separation of factions is extremely strong, thematically. And especially not Tauren Paladins.

Whilst it's true it's a closer match than the Tauren it's also a common mistake to assume Paladins are just priests with swords. Paladins are so deeply infused with the light that it would be impossible to remain one into undeath. They were so powerful in the light they were outright immune to the plague and their gathered bodies beneath Light's Hope was enough to sanctify even the blighted land to a degree it tilted the balance against the Lich King hard.

An undead being subjected to the light in such an intensity would essentially just be burned to death. So an Undead Paladin would need the caveat that they are technically not Paladins in the same mechanical sense and are thus weaker than regular Paladins. They really would just be, in effect, priests with swords. The best way to handle it would be to have the Forsaken take up the role of Paladin after having died in a sort of leperous devotion, akin to characters like King Baldwin in Kingdom of Heaven. Actually resurrecting Paladins from the dead is a touchy subject lore-wise owing to their infusion. We do have at least two examples of non-DK undead Paladins (a mob in Scholomance and Marshal Redpath's Ghost) but most undead Paladins are Death Knights so either created via the invasive power of a Runeblade or by the mechanisms of Acherus designed to mass-produce Death Knights.

So it can be done it's just a nuance thing.

Undead should get Paladin. Tauren should lose Druid.

Shaman is Horde-only. Druid is Alliance-only.
