Then it suddenly dissappears, when I open launcher it just says "Install". only works from wow.exe after that, is this just malware nest or wtf is going on? Have you put the octolauncher and folder into the "Exceptions" of windows defender? If not, thts the issue, because it doesnt have a license... cant really have windows license a private server they prefer not to see

What do you mean by "it disappears?" What directory do you have WoW installed to? Did the entire directory get deleted? Only some files?

Adding the install directory to your Windows security exceptions list can help, especially if you're installing mods, but I don't think Windows would just delete the entire directory. Seems like a bit of user error here + lack of information.

Because Windows Defender doesn't see it on the white list, freaks out, and removes it. Automatic "ok" isn't something windows ALWAYS does and as such you have to create an exception for the file manually before running it. it's "Disappearing" because Windows is nuking the executable.

Whats deleting it is WIndows. The Operating System thinks it a suspicious file and deletes it. There are instances of where Windows will NOT allow the user to run an EXE. its there to stop low level skiddy stuff from firing off. In any case you're on your own for figuring out how to greenlight the exe on your install of Windows. But searching "Windows defender deleting executable" is your start

I have a similar problem from time to time, though nothing is getting deleted it seems.
What will happen if I even leave the octolauncher open without hitting play it the directory will vanish and I have to change it back to where it was, do a verify and it works. Or in the same vain, all the launcher tweaks I have turned on shut off. For reference my octowow folder is in the windows defender exclusion and this still happens from time to time.
