Hi one of my friends told me he would help me get gold and i guess must of paid for it using my characters name and sent it do me that way, i get that i did get the gold that i guess was paid for but i had no idea i don't see why i should be perma banned instead of just like having the gold removed or something. i get that you'll get a lot of appeals like this but i really just thought my friend was sending me gold to help me out.

Your friend came to your house, logged into your account and character, then listed a bolt of linen cloth for 102.23g? Then listed 10x silk cloth for 103.11g and 102.12g? And you didn't know where it came from?

No? uhhh i got send two mails from other players for those amount of gold as was shown on my account in my mail though one of them i think was gone. And after some looking around and messaging friends you don't need access to the persons account at all to buy 3rd party gold you just need to know the realm and character name. which is how this 'friend' managed to send it to me.

If I understood correctly what you wrote, why do u accept random gold from random players?

Because clearly it's normal for his friend who he apparently does not know that well to send him gold from multiple random characters as well as unprompted spend money on him having more in-game gold.
I mean... Could it all be the fault of this "friend" and this a case of friendly fire? Sure. Could Kestrel also be looking at the wrong account (and my interpretation from his post is that is there is data indicating the same PC/location) for who listed the auctions? Sure. Likely? Well...
It's a bit tricky, since obviously we don't want a situation where you could flag someone else for RMT, but we also can not have a situation where a single degree of separation is enough to shield from attempting RMT. From what I've seen here, I seriously doubt there is only one point of evidence in most of these cases.

If I could give my final like comment, I learned how it was done it's on a website where you can input a characters name and realm and send gold to them, my friend had stated he was going to send me some I just assumed they were alts or friends or friends I not really too familiar with these spaces and private servers. I do understand that I seemed to of taken and used paid gold so while I would really love to be given a 2nd chance and I'll never accept it and report it I understand that your rules have to be steadfast for a reason. But there we go.

Also I have no knowledge of posting anything on the auction house unless the website can do that automatically I have no idea. I just received mail that had the gold

It's a bit tricky,
Not trying to be dismissive but if they have logs from his usual IP of posting stuff on the AH that's pretty hard for anyone else to fake in order to weaponize it. It's kind of an Occams Razor situation. It's far more likely that it's just yet another person buying gold and thought they came up with a good explanation without realizing that the devs would have details like which IP was being used while posting auctions.
Regarding looking at the wrong account, I mean the forum account is linked directly to their in game account. Buddy never gave his account name, so Kestrel would be looking at the account linked to his forum name.
They genuinely do seem to investigate and there have been false positives and they've been good about reversing them from what I've seen but if Kestrel has the guys IPs posting the auctions in question I feel that's pretty clear.

I get that most of these appeals are bullshit, but, i have to ask the what if question. Someone mentioned in some other post sending gold to a player as an attack vector, and that does seem to be a potential concern. I get if someone lists a copper bar for 1k gold they were likely directed to do so by the chynaman gold seller, but what about COD? Can a player not COD an item for 1k gold? I know if that were sent to me id open it, as the mailbox add seems to open everything. Anywho, just thinking outloud and wondering if what looks like an AH purchase for 1k gold could be a COD for 1k gold.
