I am shocked to see our community not just survive, but continue to grow despite these DDoS attacks coming in so persistently. <3 I cannot express how grateful myself and the team are for all of you sticking with us during this time.

We are doing everything that we can to mitigate them for now, and hope this will be the final weekend were these attacks are able to affect us in this way. Find the timeline for the attacks from yesterday and the attacks (thus far) from today below.

I'm sure it has been proposed, but this is at the point where a whitelist would help (cant do it on the website exactly, but everything else, yes). As burdensome as that would be. The burden could be lessened however, by incorporating an IP address updater in the launcher...

That is extreme, perhaps less extreme would be temporarily banning all the "AI" IP blocks. As a host I found Claude, I think it was, particularly braindead - hammering senselessly against client ecommerce sites... though it may have been the result of the new generation of "script kiddie"... a "prompt brat"? :)

I would love to have at the server but it sounds like you guys know what is happening and are doing the best that can be done for now given the circumstances.

Thanks for hosting OctoWow and I'll keep on playing! :)

We are unable to block traffic based on IP at the L4 network level, that is upstream of our servers unfortunately. More information can be found here (https://octowow.st/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2115).

I mean just telling your friends about the server helps. If you see misinformation being spread correcting that can help. If you mean material support the only way to donate currently is via cryptocurrency and you can do so here; https://octowow.st/donate

I was new to donating via crypto as well but it's not very complicated.

Can you please remove the 15 min coward debuff during the attacks so we can atleast try to enter BGs. Sometimes they finish in less than 5 minutes, atleast in the 20-29 bracket. Was able to do some WSG matches succesfully.

Could you also rethink the roadmap slightly and maybe push everything like 1-2 weeks back or was that already calculated in that we get these attacks so frequently?
