Re: Temporary Connectivity Fix for Linux Users

This solution should allow you to leave your realmlist file alone. That is, just let the launcher clobber it with play.octowow.st and it should just work.

What it's doing is making your traffic "look" like non-Linux traffic, so the DDoS prevention doesn't block you right away. Will it continue to ...

Re: IP range 92.114/16 is a problem

Right now, I'm forced to hack my realmlist.wtf file to point to that specific IP address so I can log in and play.

Can you elaborate on this? Do you just change the >set realmlist "play octowow.st" to >set realmlist "185.246.188.177"?

Edit: For other technically incompetent folks, I just ...

Temporary Connectivity Fix for Linux Users

Thanks to the awesome work of Tinmann in this post:

https://octowow.st/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2783&start=50#p16470

It would seem that the connection issues for Linux users stems from the hosting provider responsible for the 92.114.107.0/25 IP addresses using traffic fingerprinting. If the server ...

Re: DDoS Updates

Are you online now? I can not connect.

My public IP is 85.***.221.27. The website says:

"Your current connection is not on the whitelist."

When I try to connect, the client stays on "Connecting...".

From Linux, I also tested the realm connection directly:

Re: Connecting Error

Connecting screen continues to be a problem. The game periodically gets stuck on "connecting" for hours. There is no solution. I and my family are playing on Linux and we noticed that our windows laptop will sometimes immediately log in, whereas our SteamOS proton wrapped version will be stuck on ...

Re: IP range 92.114/16 is a problem

Doing some further research into this issue. The "working" IP mentioned above, 185.246.188.177, is owned by FlokiNET, the hosting provider mentioned by Kestrel in the most recent DDoS post.

inetnum: 185.246.188.0 - 185.246.188.255
netname: FlokiNET-Netherlands

IP range 92.114.107.0/25 is a problem

I am in the SE United States using AT&T as my ISP. Currently, the IP address for play.octowow.st is "92.114.107.111 ". Earlier this morning, the IP was "92.114.107.59". If I try to ping either of these IPs, this is what I get:

>>] ping 92.114.107.59
PING 92.114.107.59 (92.114.107.59) 56(84) bytes ...

Re: DDoS Updates

The game is being DDoSed. The game is slow. The forums are performing well.

Perhaps you could use the metadata coming from the forums as an indicator of which accounts care about connectivity?
