The url should include a port. it works for me on linux, also with launcher version 1.4.1

maybe if you manually insert the port into the url like this? http://127.0.0.1:36809/callback?code=...&st=...

Did you start the game from the launcher? Just starting WoW.exe doesn't work for me and leads exactly to being stuck in "Authenticating" for a while until it fails. When starting from launcher the login is instant. The priority login in the launcher might also help.
