I believe that you will find that most of the community is NOT okay with only a 7 day ban and I'm sure people will continue to speak up about this.
Please - for the sake of everyone on this server, reconsider the penalties

Thanks for the transparency, it's really appreciated and so is the action taken.

With that said, and I'm not sure if it will count for anything, but I agree with the others in that 7 days should be 7,000,000 days + IP ban/permanent access removal.

I want to add one more thing.

If you think that a guild sneaking a player in as a GM and creating the HAND OF RAG is not worth a perma-ban then what is?!

Leaving this as a 7 day ban is going to open the flood gates to people doing crazy shit.

this mans account deserves to be perma banned, he can sign up again and try again.
if you dont take action now you are just telling other exploiters/cheaters that this is ok and will be a slap on the wrist.
sometimes losing 1000s of hours of work because you cheated is what happens and needs to happen. As a dev/gm remove emotion from your decision making and look at it through the eyes of the player base who is not cheating.

Luckily we are not in a rush to decide as we have at least a week to get the community's input.

We are 100% sure that this was not an incident of the guild "sneaking" a GM into the team. We have reviewed chat logs from the guild and other members and found nobody involved in this other than these two. Neither wanted others to know the truth.

Scenarios like these can really hurt the server's reputation, and I can already smell an incoming Reddit post about this incident, which will no doubt make some potential players not want to roll here.

Please, for the sake of the playerbase who are actively wanting more people playing here, take things like appointing new GMs more seriously.

On a side note, a 7-day ban is nothing but a slap on the wrist! Please reconsider and try to make an example out of this player.

Thanks for all your and your team's hard work.

All the more reason to only ban this player. They were colluding together and they should BOTH be equally penalized. Ban this player, please - for the sake of everyone who is playing here now and everyone who will potentially play here in the future.

I agree that a 7-day ban for Meatgrinder is a bit weak for this.
Yes removing not just the generated items + the legitimately ground-out components is more of a punishment than it seems at first glance, but I think the fact that he knowingly and intentionally tried to cheat, lied, and showed further intent to lie to staff in his appeal get the hammer back is much more severe than simply accepting improper help.

EDIT: I felt I should also add that a 7 day ban in the context of a max level, in a Vanilla server that has only MC out... is not really going to be felt. At most he will miss 1 lockout, if that, and raidloggers are already accustomed to only hopping on for raid.

You don't have access to their discord. There's more conversations going on than in guild chat.

7 days is not enough of a punishment in the slightest. How about a permanent ban/character deletion?
