Reshade on Linux

Hi yall.

I have been trying to fruitelessly get reshade working on my system (Nobara) and nothing works. Launching the game through lutris, steam, using whatever wine and proton versions. Moving .dlls around. Tried using a script that was released on github recently AND just installing via reshadeinstaller.exe within the game directory. Nothing works. I've been at it for HOURS, and nothing works.

I just want to make the game a little prettier man....

So I wanted to ask around to see if anyone got it working or maye it's impossible on linux.

Would appreciate your advice and input.

I am on CachyOS (Arch) and I simply used steam with proton experimental to run it by adding it as a non-steam game. I am not really sure why it would not work for you, but if you have anymore info on why running it through steam didn't work maybe I could help you. The window for installation pops immediately after making sure the compatibility layer is correct.

Hi I'm new here. Been trying to get reshade working with octo wow myself but no luck. I play on steam deck and install it using the konsole from https://github.com/kevinlekiller/reshade-steam-proton. It will install fine it just doesn't work in game, nothing happens.

I used the same install on blizzards wow and it works fine so that tells me something from the octo client stops it from working. Any ideas?

In regards to installing ReShade and it not showing up after installation. If you are still using a GUI of ReShade during the installation process using DX9 or another version of installation worked for me. I couldn't get Vulkan to work on my OS, but DX9's version did work for me. If you can't getting it working using that bash script I would recommend trying steam, but be sure you are able to selection the installation type.

I got it working by installing DX11 version and you have to manually add dxgi.dll and d3dcompiler_47.dll in the Octo wow launcher under the mod section / custom DLLs. Hope it works for you too OP.

Appreciate the replies and glad I'm not the only one with this problem. As Synchromystic suggested, I tried enabling the .dlls in the launcher. Here's what I attempted
- Installing with dx 9, 11, 12, vulkan etc. (via the ./reshade-linux.sh script and also by launching reshade.exe with wine)
- Launhing through steam, lutris, launcher itself
- Entering the correct environmental values in lutris and launch parameters on steam

Unfortunately still hasn't worked, but I really thought it would because I never tturned on the actual .dlls in the launcher under mods.

Oh well, hopefully there will be some kind of solution. Thanks for your time.
