It made people gather and socialize, and it made the rested xp feel more significant. It made leveling more fun. Rested XP actually meant something! Now it has no meaning - you might as well just make leveling faster across the board and remove rested xp completely (which is boring and retail-ish).
Tents were a signature feature, one of the things that defined Twow and made it stand out. It was such a great idea that another MMO run by a bunch of corporate bitches has now blatantly stolen the idea and messed it up
