Did some skirmishes. Arena is just silly right now, you can use almost all abilities, consumes and engineering stuff. And from what I've seen the normal bloodring arena rep gear is gone? Replaced with the new gear purchasable only with conquest points? Which require to participate in ranked arena? If that's the case, that the best PvP gear is locked behind conquest points AGAIN would suck all the fun out of doing casual PvP in BGs mostly for me. Done it on Wotlk servers and what not, imo mop got it right the best, no matter what type of PvP you like to do the best PvP gear was avaliable to anyone really and ranked arena only had cosmetics like a bloody something weapon enchants and such stuff as reward.

Sorry but this is just totally unfun if that's the case

• There are now Blood Ring vendors at the Gurubashi Arena

Also we need to talk about resilience.
I never understood what's the point of punishing only classes who deal damage with DoTs and classes who rely on critical hits.
Resilience should just reduce all incoming damage from players. It's so much easier to balance, and also it's way more fair.
For example, in 1.18.1 MM and BM hunters were reworked so they rely on crit procs a lot, and resilience works against these new mechanics.
Let crits to proc, but reduce the damage instead.

Did a few matches and I agree allowing consumables is imo a bad idea.
I already farm consumes for PvE, don't want to do it for arena.
Otherwise had a lot of fun.

Which classes/specs don’t rely on crit or dots in PvP?

Hello,

I wanted to do a shout out to Octo and the dev team. You talked about Xrealm BGs and you made it real, you talked about fixing arena and it's playable. It really brings hope to me and to a lot of people too I'm sure, that you stand true to your words and get things done. Those were huge steps for the pvp section and in the right direction. keep up the good work.

I've been playing arena since this morning, just a little comment on it. I don't clearly understand the purpose of the Bo3 system, why isn't it single matches and you take the loss if you played poorly/made mistakes ? Plus if you allow CDs to reset each round, it brings even less meaning to it. Classes with long CDs can just keep abusing them and not allow others to take advantage of the CD throughout the course of the bo3.
Also :
-2min of breaks between rounds is too long imo. Should go down to 1min.
-Items should be swapable during the encounter. It feels awful not being able to switch your utility trinkets when going out of combat.

Otherwise it's really fun, much appreciated patch !

Kestrel wrote: Sat Oct 31, 2026 7:52 am We are excited to announce the launch of our Arena feature!

There were many details to finalize and decisions made during the implimentation process, please fine some of the important ones below.

Arena Systems
• Arenas are now open on all realms, including Hardcore, for level 60 players
• For the Hardcore realm, all arena gear is statless, but there are some recipes to grab
• Arenas available at launch are the Circle of Blood, the Ruins of Lordaeron and Sunstrider Court
• Arena registrars can be found in SW, Org, or the Gurubashi Arena
• Blood Ring armor can be bought with Conquest Points
• Conquest points are awarded during each weekly honor reset based on arena rating
• Cross realm is enabled for skirmishes
• Rated arenas are realm specific
• Rated arenas are a best of three series
• There will be a 2 minute prep time between rounds
• Cooldowns of 10 minutes or less reset along with their buffs. Class buffs and consumables do not get cleared
• Each round lasts up to 15 minutes, and a round that runs out of time goes to the team with more players alive, drawing if even.
• Two Shadow Sight orbs appear 90 seconds into every round. Picking one up lets you see stealthed and invisible players for 15 seconds, but you take 5% more damage and it breaks your own stealth or invisibility. A used orb comes back after 3 minutes
• Transmog is temporarily disabled while in an arena
• You can't change your gear while a round is being fought
• Leaving a rated arena forfeits the match for your team, gives you Deserter, and the loss counts twice for your team's rating
• Leaving a skirmish gives you Deserter and costs you 4 wins' worth of Blood Ring reputation
• Teams need 3 rated games a week to earn Conquest Points
• Blood Ring is back in the Call to Arms rotation
• on its day skirmishes award double honor and 90 Blood Ring reputation instead of 60
• Resilience on existing gear is now shown as two lines, Reduced Critical Damage and Reduced Periodic Damage, with the same total effect
• This is in support of a split of the Turtle WoW resilience system to test out some more dynamic and targeted PvP stats
• There are now Blood Ring vendors at the Gurubashi Arena
• More gear will be coming (likely in K40 phase) to these vendors

Do keep in mind that during this Beta phase of the server, things are much in flux and subject to change. If you don't like something, make a reasonable argument for why you think it should change.
I love seeing constant updates, if you can answer, you're going to take some things from forever? (not zones, I hate Riverglades), but other things like dungeons or assets like Manor Mistmantle? You have a different Roadmap for new custom content separated from the Classic Raid opening like how turtle was doing every year?

So while I'm happy for the PvPers, I'm not sure Vanilla (and Vanilla+ by extension) was really built for Arena. Arena was one of the reasons classes became more homogenized, requiring interrupts, self-sustain, ways to do X Y Z, etc.

Vanilla really was built around clashing clumps of people in a group and explosions happening. Which is really antithetical to traditional game balance but it "worked" in that it was memorable. The balance were teams dogpiling the strongest, or falling like reeds. It just kinda feels Vanilla even if it sucks sometimes.

Trying to balance for Arena is fine, but I would strongly and cautiously ask to please keep ANY changes to classes for Arena PURELY for Arena. I want the best for the PvP crowd, but touching PvE balance for a side-game mode (Yes I said it, sorry hardcore PvPers) will be really disheartening.

Good luck Octo Team!
