"Dungeonfinder" is useless

First of all nobody knows it even exists. Secondly you cannot see who signed up, how long you have been signed up, the approximate queue time.

There is a custom df right next to it so people sign up there but also can signup for the queue?? It's confusing af.
Even if you queue for the custom df people never confirm their role. The tool needs to autodetect the role !!!

Either remove the automated df or make it the only option available and leave the custom queue for non dungeon content. If you won't do anything with it at least make the dungeon finder the default page so people know it is there.

Well... turtle veterans know for sure... But its actually a valid point. It shows nothing and some people may think it wont work at all or something like that. Its need a visual feedback.

Riddle me this, why does a queue take 2 hours to pop on a server with 1.3k players when on Nostrum you have less players and get almost instant queues? There is obviously a problem.

Maybe because on nostrum there are like five dungeons available in total, and a lot of people are already lvl 29 (or whatever the limit is right now). Here you have 1.3k people stretched over 60 levels, so yeah, queue times might be slower

Confirming it works isn't "useless". It's written, anecdotal proof that it works. There are people out there who have used it and haven't had their queue pop so it's logical to assume, especially after multiple uses with no result, that it might be broken.

Because people aren't using it. The Group Finder IS functional. If no one is queueing for it you obviously aren't going to find any groups.

here's the thing.. if youre playing a class that has the potential to tank or heal, throw on the gear and do it. if everyone is DPS then no one will find a group. Imagine the waiting list - 20 DPS waiting to queue for a place, but theres 0 tanks and 1 healer in the queue. You as the 20th dps in line are 5 queue pops away from getting a group. GG's!!!

p.s it's not that hard to itemize for another spec and it's a rewarding investment

This is the way, play druid, pally, resto/tank/dps you'll always find a group.

Hello, everyone. Me and some of my friends are playing on N'Zoth server. Speaking of myself, I am new to Twow and Octowow content.

First, I want to thank Octowow crew for either creating or preserving this brilliant custom Dungeon Finder option.

I found it by myself, when checking the mini-map icons as I usually do for addons, think its a common way to most of us.

DF has 2 sections: on the left you have the LFG option, very well suited for quests that need a group to complete. Here u can make a short description of what is needed, customize your role and choose, how many tanks, healers and dps are enough to cope with it. It works like an ad. You can also find a group for a dungeon this way. Maybe I am wrong, but think no lvl requirements for posting.

On the right you have the main dungeon party finder tool that works like a queu. Level requirement to join the queu is 13.

This DF tool on the right procs several checks: first check is your desired role in a group (tank, heal, dps). Second check procs when each new member joins your party request, when he/she meets the vacant roles. And final check goes up when full party is gathered. It is a VERY clever decision to allow switch roles while waiting on a queu, because people Change their minds people are mistake and people leave.

I believe us thinking DF is not "working" properly is due to these factors:

- there is no public announcement of this feature
- people got used to spamming general chat, looking for company

Also, I agree, that it might have internal script failures that sometimes lead to infinite queues.

I had DF proc once in like under 1 minute for a queu to RFC, and I had it running for over 20 minutes a couple of times without getting a proc. At first I got a weird idea that server poulation growth affects its work in a negative way: the more online - the longer the wait. Then I thought that, most probably, people dont use it coz they dont know it exists.

My suggestions are simple:

- make info of this option public on the main page of Octowow site, a small message. It deserves it
- once per ... make announcements in world chat that players can use Dungeon Finder option by clicking the *eye* icon on the minimap.
- check DF logs to find fatal errors, unexecutable script commands and queueing bugs.

Btw, thank you for the last update. My Atlas loot now properly shows items from Stormwrought Ruins.
