One of the best swords is from MC.

It's actually good to have loot like this in the lower tier raids because it gives a reason to keep more experienced & geared players to keep running them and helping newer players gear up.

I mean first of all you don't get Scythe of Elune the trinket from K10, right. That's where the quest item drops. You need to do a long difficult quest line and clear K40 to actually get the trinket.

To the people going on about people needing to do K10 when theres no point, you basically need to continue doing K10 regularly for a long time for all the Arcane Essence and the Ley Attuned Essences or whatever the less common blue versions were called. You need two of those for the +25 Arcane Resist enchants and then you need one for each T3.5 piece. So like what each player needs eight and some K10 runs only drop one. Theres plenty of good reasons to continue doing K10 long term. Helping out your caster friends is just one of them.

I dunno. Not everyone is going to get a Legendary. It is what it is. Thats the game design. Not everyone gets Thunderfury.

Changing stuff like this so everyone has everything is what led to Retail.

The quest start item dropping from K10 isn't really the problem with Scythe in my opinion.

Scythe's power is too high, every caster dps "needs" it (RIP ele shamans, you will forever be the worst caster post K40)

The six Eternal Dreamstone Shards are the real pain point in the quest itself. A legendary enchanting recipe (1.5% drop rate) from a raid later down the road with a large material cost and a 7 day cooldown. But I still think the main issue of Scythe is that it's just too powerful personally.

That is exactly the point. If a single trinket is the best possible option for every single spellcasting class, while the next-best item is outrageously worse, that is a sign of terrible design that should never have made it past the brainstorming stage

I replied to this thread early on, but this is essentially the best explanation for why the current scythe experience should not change.

On the ease of acquisition, it is the most easy legendary to obtain as well.
1. The quest item drops on the first boss.
2. It takes a maximum of 10 minutes to get to the first boss.
3. You can run K10 twice weekly.
4. With a certain gear threshold you can kill the boss with 3 to 4 players.
5. You can guarantee that you get it by HRing the item
