Agreed, updated <3
Most of the thought/work for the roadmap was admittedly put into the restoration section of it, the rest was a bit tacked on when we realized we would get tons of questions about phasing still. Dates are still subject to change and should not be treated as "locked in". Especially the phases.
I think slower phases would be terrible, I started leveling where I felt 'oh here I can get 60 and not have to much time in the just MC phase'. A lot of players start playing, or decide to play based on a roadmap. For example now that it has changed i'm going to play a whole lot less. Some people i spoke to are now gonna do hardcore or take a break.
I've (like many from ambershire) have already done 7 months of just MC and ZG phase, so joined late. The long phases also killed the raiding scene during the long ZG snooz. Please revert the changes and keep the phases shorter, you can always create a fresh server with slow phases if the demand for it is there imo. Changing a roadmap always sucks for the players.
The people that are saying oh i'm only "insert level" this is perfect. Don't need to do content when it's current (ex. mc during mc phase), if they wanna play casually they can do MC whenever even in later phases. Gate keeping raid content from raiders in favor of casual players doesn't make sense. Keep the raid community healthy please.
I honestly think people asking for longer phases are either trolls or don't raid at all. Never heard any raider say 'oh i wish this phase was longer' after doing the raid for 2 months.
My biggest issue is almost 5 months (18 resets?) of BWL? ES isn't a real raid, it's just an instanced world boss if we are being honest. So feels like a big drought of content.
Take the TBC release 2021 for example the longest phase was SSC and TK and that one was like 19 weeks which was 2 full raids + a lot of people not being able to clear it for the first few weeks. BWL is way less content + plus anyone can clear it week 1.
Yeah I fully agree with you. Im not sure who is asking for this slow of a pace. Its honestly been a bit of a buzz kill for me. I wasn't super happy with the old roadmap and felt it was a bit slow as is but five months of BWL seems rough. Waiting until October for ZG feels bad.
I understand they cant make everyone happy, but I have a feeling this will make more people unhappy than it will make happy. And anyone who is happy about this wouldnt be impacted by faster phasing beyond maybe their ego being hurt that they're slightly slightly behind the curve.
A lot of us just want to catch up to where we were on Twow. I was on K40 progression and yeah I dont expect to be back there in a few months but waiting over a year for it... I dunno.
The nearly five months between BWL and AQ feels weird when there is only about three months between AQ and Naxx. Imo 2.5 months between the major raids is more than enough and we've already had more than that for MC. This will essentially be what five months of MC followed by five months of BWL?
In my opinion ZG should be released already, BWL should come out Sept 15th.
ES on December 1st.
AQ40 on January 1st
Then there will be enough content for people to work through that we could delay the next raids. But as things stand right now, the economy kind of blows so you cant even feel good about grinding gold and preparing for when meaningful raids come out in six months... The economy being as rough as it is discourages people. Theres no demand for items and people keep grinding and saving up so that even when more raids do come out the economy isn't going to improve all that much.
I dunno. I dont see any benefit to delaying raids. The people upset about a faster progression curve aren't really impacted beyond feeling that they're behind the curve but that has no actual impact on anything other than ego. Delaying stuff has a real genuine impact on the entire server, the economy, and how people feel gratified with their time spent. I imagine we will lose people over the delay, and I really cant see anyone being bothered enough about it being sped up that they quit. I had a great time on Twow starting quite late. K40 wasn't out yet but Naxx had been on farm for a lot of guilds for literal years. I didnt join a farm team. I joined a progression guild, and we progressed from AQ up to K40 together. You dont need to be ahead of the curve to enjoy raiding, but having nothing to do is very much not enjoyable.
