They literally removed this jump from the game in TBC. It's clear it was never intended.
Whether or not it was removed in a later expansion has no precedence on it's legality in the current version.
The fact that it was removed shows they didn't want it in the game. So it's perfectly valid to not want it in the game here, either.
I am afraid and shocked that i am saying this. But i totally agree with you.

Also starting a witch hunt because you dont agree with decision being a made is maybe a bit much not?

You are correct, it is a valid reason for it to not be in the game: However, it is in the game, and, we are not arguing whether it should be patched out; what we are discussing is the legality of it -- whether or not it is an offense that should be punished: It is not a punishable offense on official Classic servers, and, as previously stated, it is perfectly legal in official Classic WoW tournaments.

This type of jump in WSG is allowed, although I had not included this in our GM documentation. Apologies for any concern or issues this may have caused.

We have no plans to remove the ability to do this but are not opposed if the community feels strongly, but sounds like it is not a unifying issue.
Sincerely,

Thanks for the clarification Kestrel. Not sure how tabs are kept on accounts flagged for offences but I'm hoping myself and others that have been flagged now can get those removed!

Thank you. It'd be very easy to brush this aside from your position.

As it wasn't included in the GM documentation — apologies to you Rook — it's an honest mistake.

I've seen wall jumping from both horde and alliance players on WSG multiple times.
I think that it's not hack, so it's allowed by the rules, so no punishment for it is fine.

But I also think that using these jumps is not a fair play. Wall jumping always was there, but it never felt ok.
It should not be fixed by rules, it should be fixed by editing WSG map. Just add some invisible walls to these spots:
jump from the lower ground near horde gy
jump from the lower ground up on the horde tunnel roof
jump from the lower ground near alliance gy
jump through textures of the alliance ramp

It will solve most of wall jumping issues on bg

I agree with this assessment.

What's not allowed is being in a place that cannot be reached — not reaching a place faster because you've honed a skill that anyone can learn. Punishing people for being better at the game?

Imagine being so bad at the game you have to go to the grey zone... in Super Mario you can jump all day long. Afaik not all race/sex combos can do the jumps. If running through a fence is intended, why theres a fence in the first place?
Does these jumps help you win games? Try to lose with dignity. Since you already better at the game, try to improve your teammates and your teamplay.
