OFFICIAL EVENT: The Retired Adventurer Transmog Competition!

"Tired of the searing heat of Molten Core? Sick of the smell of dragon breath in Onyxia's Lair? Even the Highlord himself needs a day off!"

While the war against Ragnaros rages on, we are calling all heroes to set aside their Tier 1 sets and Fire Resist gear for a much-needed vacation. We are hosting the first-ever "Retired Adventurer" Fashion Show!

Show us what your character does when they aren't raiding. Are you a master fisherman in Stranglethorn? A humble pumpkin farmer in Elwynn? Or perhaps a tourist just trying to find a beach that isn't covered in lava?

• Realm: N'Zoth

THE THEME: "RETIRED ADVENTURER"

Your outfit should represent a life of leisure, a hobby, or a peaceful profession.
Examples: A Chef, a Gardener, a Fisherman, a Beach-goer, a Tavern Regular, or a Wealthy Merchant.

PRO-TIP: Don't forget your Companion Pets! A faithful dog for a farmer, a parrot for a pirate, or a cat for a cozy tavern regular can be the "missing piece" that wins the judges over!

REWARDS

• 1st Place: 200 OctoTokens + 10 Fashion Tokens
• 2nd Place: 10 Fashion Tokens
• 3rd Place: 5 Fashion Tokens

RULES OF THE RUNWAY

• Originality Over Rarity: We are looking for unique stories, not just rare loot. While wearing an "Epic" item won't give you an advantage, originality will. If two contestants show up with a similar look, the judges will favor the one with the most creative and distinct details. Be one of a kind!
• The 15-Second Spotlight: When it is your turn to take the stage, make it count! You have 15 seconds to perform an emote and tell the judges (in /say) what your character’s retirement hobby is. Keep it snappy—the judges have many heroes to see!
• Equip Your Hobby: A true master of retirement always has their tools ready. We highly encourage you to hold items that fit your theme—whether it’s a pitchfork for your farm, a frying pan for your kitchen, or a tankard of ale for your permanent stay at the tavern.

The hunt is on! Search the hidden corners of Azeroth for your perfect "civilian" attire.

So far we have 3 judges from the GM / Moderation team, but in the future we could also have a member of the community as well, maybe the winner of this competition or if you have other suggestions on how to choose one?

I support the event, but I won't be participating because I lack both the Transmogrification Coins and the gold needed to buy the gear. I believe events like this should be easily accessible; for instance, Turtle WoW has previously run events that gave away large amounts of Transmogrification Coins for players to use. Ultimately, the reward here is just too meager—do they really expect hundreds of players to participate for such a paltry prize?

Hey, thanks for the feedback, the entry level is quite low i believe as we gave 10 days to gather the gear and you don't have to use fashion coins but just equip what you'd like to showcase. So a basic fishing rod, plain cloths and a traveler hat is enough to tell a story.

This event is first of it's kind on OctoWoW and definitely we'll learn from it and make future ones even better and a regular occurrence.

It's obvious that your event is targeted at European players, because Asian players are sleeping at this time!

I like the idea of the previous winner being a judge for the next competition, idk how hard it would be to implement but you could also maybe do a poll on the discord between players picked by your judges for the final winners? or maybe have a 4th / alternate winners prize that's specifically for the community vote and not based on the judges choice.

We'll add the even to the calendar, as for the poll and wider community it would be hard as we don't use discord but i will propose to others that next time the winner of this contest is among the judges.
