To all the Russian players. This is a cloudflare issue. Do with that what you want, but if you can bypass only cloudflare traffic through VPN this will work

If you use the launcher you should not need to update your realm list manually. If your launcher is on a version older than 1.3.8 then your launcher's network requests are likely being blocked by your computer which is cause these issues.

For those unable to connect through the new realmlist, we are talking with our proxy/scrubbing provider right now about how we can update our scrubbing to allow those players through, unfortunately for the duration of the DDoS attacks you may need to use a VPN if you have access to one. I will post updates when we know more.

I saw a post in wchat saying the realmlist would be going down but I instantly got back and no VPN needed. Dcing but have came back instantly everytime, this one is taking a second. 2nd log in attempted work. Gigga.

He was stating the old server realm list. I thought he was being a troll. He was just letting people know to swap over though. Can confirm it helps.

Launcher is unusable for me - it immediately generates pages long error text: "Update check failed: Cannot parse update info from latest.yml in the latest release artifacts (https://octowow.st/launcher-updates/lat ... =1k17g1ae3): YAMLException: end of the stream or a document separator is expected"... etc.

Looks to be HTML/ XML etc. related, but no play button. =\

[Edit] - saw the bit about 1.3.8, looks like I am on 1.3.7. Will update manually and report back.

So, manually updating the launcher seems to have worked - except for the crash when loading into game now, but that's likely something on my end...

[Edit again] Indeed - new launcher turned off all tweaks. Leaving this all for posterity in case someone else has similar issues.

I could connect with realmlist.wtf updated without using VPN from Russia,
but I get kicked out in a minute or two each time.
I use no launcher but direct [ wine WoW.exe ]
I also must admit that if the traffic goes through Cloudflare, it virtually will kill the server for all russian players.
And unlike the DDoS attacks, this will be permanent for most, sad but true.

We do see that your disconnects were all results of the DDoS not an explicit block or time out for Russian traffic. We will ensure that any solution does not permanently block any players.

So what is now being done? We are going on 7 days of these issues, with more downtime than up. I appreciate the work that is being done, but a 7 day DDoS? That would inanely expensive to perpetrate. For all the fellows who've donated to the cause, this is a real bummer as I'd hope the "donations" would be going towards stability and maintenance of the systems, whether it would be from attacks or not

It's 5 days. One wave per day. Each wave took about 7 hours. So for sure we up more than down. Just some clarifications.

Hi, I changed the realmlist but it still won't let me access the server, what can I do?
The launcher gives me an error when I open it.
