Slay the Spire 1 is really better than the second game.

A broken clock is right twice a day.

Or just roll up a Tank and if you are worried about being benched just roll a Druid and play as a Bear Tank and then swap to Cat which will be a lot smoother.

If anything they should add AI DPS because they can only play better than what I have seen so far.

Rocdog wrote: Mon Jun 29, 2026 7:11 pm The solution seems to be obvious: roll a tank character and you'll never have to wait for a group.

At least that's the theory.
And then what? You reach max level want to raid and get benched because there is no need for tanks in raids. So you go and farm a dps set and roll against all the other dps. If raids required the same proportional amount of tanks as dungeons it would be a different story.

Sat in queue again for 2 hours. Nothing. Nobody wants to tank/heal because the dungeon experience isn't chill like in classic. Mobs hit too hard and people wipe on the first group and then disband never to try another dungeon again.

This is has nothing to do with classic.
This is part of the solution. Roll a class that can tank then play the DPS spec in raids. As far as rolling against all other DPS - you have to do that regardless of your role. If you were a rogue, you'd have to roll against all other AP users or rogues for tier. If you were a healer you'd have to roll against other healers and even caster DPS as some early items were only available in damage and healing and if you're a tank you have to roll against (depending on class) Ap gear for threat, defense gear and even SP gear for threat if you're a paladin. You will never be in a situation where you don't have to share loot. The issue isn't just on you but on the community as a whole - there are not enough people who play tank roles.

Season of Discovery combated this issue by adding more classes that could tank in the form of rogues and warlocks but even if Mysteries of Azeroth did that we still reach the fundamental issue - do people just not want to tank? I used to always be ret DPS but I've transitioned to tank for this vanilla project due to the fact that paladins could not viably tank with a reliable toolkit before. Sometimes I've had to wait an hour as a tank to find a healer. It seems that a large population of the gaming community just wants to pound face as DPS and not the other roles. AI to fill those roles will fundamentally ruin the point of this game; it is an MMO, not a single player game. If you want to play WoW with AI bots doing the other roles, set up an offline server and play by yourself. If you want to do dungeons here you'll either have to hunt for the role needed to complete the group, or play that hard to find role itself.

I think the solution would be to make other classes capable of tanking. That way you can still play the tank role in dungeons and then respec to the DPS role in raids. I'm not sure what class you play that cannot tank but the notion of "I'd have to roll against other DPS classes if I swapped to DPS in raids" is flawed - you will always have to do that.
