Brighteous wrote: Thu Jul 09, 2026 4:01 pm Hi! EARTHBOLT Founder of Leveling guilds Watership Down and LAPUA founder of Thunderclan Warriors. Both highly successful and large active communities still playing on multiple servers to this day.

Leveling guilds have always been highly active. The point of them is to recruit a pool of players allowing people to find players around their level to group with. Now do boosts occur? Of course they do and always have. Do people generally boost levelers from 1-60 in leveling guilds: NO. That's what the small guilds do. =] you small guilders know that you boost your alts to lvl 35 in a day. It's you. And I wouldn't be surprised if the bulk of leveling services came from these smaller guilds as well.

Being a 60 in this game's ethos has meaning. When you inspect a player you assume they have gone through all the same hardships as everyone else.

I think OctoWoW is 100% correct. Get rid of all dungeon boosting and AOE farm boosting. It takes away from the community when Naxx is out and new players show up, but all they see in their leveling zones are lvl 60's with a lvl 12 alt on follow. This is not how we want to see the game played. It's another reason why people are asking for Fresh Servers all the time, because while leveling, they have no one to play with since all the veterans are boosting themselves and their mates.

I like the new rule a lot. It's consistent with TWoW/OctoWoW Values: Level slow and steady, take your time, enjoy the game for what it is- it's a grind. Deal with it and groan all you want. I am down with these changes and the forbiddenness of lvl60 boosting in general. BRING IT ON! ENFORCE IT!

Why is every "anti-booster" so disconnected from reality and unhinged.
Once again you're accusing guilds that have much better things to do and who have gone through far more hardships than you ever will — of boosting or using RMT services — we produce our own mats and we need the ressources we generate because that's how we raid; Naxxramas average raid composition for t3 gear for 40 people (excluding t3.5) will cost 500 arcanites, 300 mooncloths and 300 rugged hides. Multiply that by extra tanks, extra healers, people with multiple alts, returners etc and then by t3.5 gear all over again.

If you don't understand it means you've never reached that level, which once again, means you have no voice to the chapter.

The game is meant to be massive raids done by large guilds— you're the very small guild — both in members and level 60's ; most raid guilds are larger than you are by a lot and we go through far more raiding hardships than your so-called "hardships from leveling" which are moot and that we've gone through often and on more characters than you probably have.

Keep being accusatory when it's obvious you're so removed from the actual game that you are not an actual part of this community — us larger (yes we're larger more geared and more 60's) guilds that raid and clear content interact with multiple guilds our size for various reasons on a guild to guild level. Think PvP events — that's us. Think large capital raids — that's us. Think grouping 5-6 guilds to go on father Lycan — that's us.

You are not the community. If anything you're the people the least part of it and that don't understand the actual spirit of the game, which is getting players together do large events.

If you knew anything about larger guilds you'd know most of us hate paid shortcuts and are probably the most vocal against RMT.
Leveling our alts is to make raids possible because these servers don't have 10,000-20,000 concurrent players like the active classic servers do. Vanilla servers had 2,000-3,000 concurrent at best to give you an idea, and guild factory alts were a near obligation, simply because it was cheaper to level an alt to 35 and level the professions than to pay 150-200g per arcanite/mooncloth/rugged..
Here on Octo we have 1/5 of that on the best days on the PvE server and 1/10th on the PvP server.
I have faith the numbers will increase eventually and reach Twow numbers or higher, but you're still gravely misunderstanding how the raiding and overall economy functions.

You might have the time to leisurely grind multiple characters to 60 because you're not raiding and might be unemployed ; my time on the game is spent raiding so the few weekends I get outside of that are for leveling alts so I don't have to spend that time farming gold to buy materials.

Overall, I think the issue is that you people really just aren't efficient and become jealous of people who actually put in the required effort.
Else you wouldn't be so accusatory of larger guilds. Your members come and leave... ours build lasting relationships and our guilds are a home we share together

If anything removing the ability to boost alts will lead to RMT not the opposite.
My guilds cleared all content on their servers. You have nothing against me and don't even know me but have gone through much trouble to make assumptions and then blather on like an undergrad. LOL look at this god awful response. This is reason enough to proceed with the changes haha what a joke

Turtle WoW is already easy to level on. Get a grip on the reality of the situation and how spoiled you already are by Turtle WoW. The economy is ACTIVE AND CHEAP. Black Lotuses aren't 70g+ the way they used to be. Cured Rugged hides aren't even 15g...?? And you're crying?

Admit it, you are spoiled and simply want to continue cheating. We don't like RMT'ers and we don't like Multiboxers.

Playing at a high level has nothing to do with cheating friend. And if OctoWoW likes when people play together and establish a policy to push for that, then I'm all for it <3 <3 <3 see you in Kara40 when it releases. And by the way, the game is about grinding. So I'm glad you have better things to do- maybe you should go do them instead of playing my game. I like it this way, I like playing with people- go play an RPG alone so you don't commit keyboard vomit like this again. Ew!!

I encourage anyone reading this slop to just skip to the bottom. He claims that the policy will lead to more RMT and not less. That should tell you everything about this terrible argument. Poorly made in bad taste. Go play another game. The kinds of players who come to Octowow enjoy leveling experiences here. I create guilds that encourage these systems. You are in a different reality if you think most players seek RMT and will seek it more often following this policy. That's something only the bad players in small guilds do. Or it's simply something You will do. Good for you, get banned and go play Capy

Thanks,

Brighteous
The entire write up for everything you've said previously can be dismantled by a high-school student yet you're here making hundreds of grammar, spelling and syntax mistakes since your first post — all while constantly insulting us — daring to call people out on things unrelated to the game; multiple times...

Because you believe your vision should supercede theirs and are willing to impose it on them?

How delusional are you to skim something and then claim you've perused it while invoking exactly what makes us right; the reason rugged is 15g is because of us.
After we're done farming for ourselves we sell it and it brings down the market price so people like you can afford some.
We also keep some in stock for further situations where it could be needed like K40 when it came out and Grim Batol, which allows us to do something you've never done — prepare — and to avoid flooding the market because we, unlike yourself, understand basic market economics.

Twow leveling is easy for folks like you — not us — which goes to show you don't even realise you are the privileged.
Let me be clear so you can understand even if that's not your strong suit: wasting 15m in an inn waiting for rested xp is 2-3 runs of Stockades or 1-2 of Armory/Cath which means it's not worth it because a single run yields over a level and a half all the way up to level 35.
So you also suck at math.

We're very aware that your guild cleared KT barely a year ago and hasn't made any progress on K40.
You barely cleared 22 year old content after multiple years on the game, why?
It's self-explanatory.

Once again you're talking about cheating and accusing people of things, just because you're jealous.
You're seething and had you read, the issue is solved. You already lost because you aren't the majority.

Your anti-booster crew has been beyond childish and have resorted not only to baseless accusations but also name calling. It's very clear we're dealing with entitled children.

Brighteous wrote: Fri Jul 10, 2026 6:50 am It's possible to be hardcore without being an elitist snob. We have been spoiled by Twow and you know it, it's far easier to level on this server- far more. So to throw a fit like a child because the devs don't want you to be able to boost 10 alts to 35 in a day is not a big deal. You still have insane rested xp generation, and tons of new quests to enjoy. Many of these quests give more XP than the vanilla ones Quit your crying haha

""oh wah wah I play at such a high level that I cannot grip any new inconvenience // b-b-but this is how I play"" we don't like how you play. It spoils the community to dual box and boost alts while keeping everyone on ignore. Go out and meet some people!! We are playing a social game not an RPG!
The only person being a snob here is you frankly, albeit a casual snob. I've not been "throwing a fit" and the only child here is the level of your reading comprehension. Despite explaining it, you seems too still not understand how fundamental having multiple alts are to players and guilds above your skillset (okay NOW I'm being a snob). I shouldn't be surprised though, trying to teach you is like pouring hot oil into a clogged funnel.

"Why don't you play the game the way I want you too?!" Kekw, because I like clearing raids in under a hour and knowing I'm one of the best ret paladins on the server, simple as that.
