I'm no Blizzard hater. But this Blizzcon showed that Blizzard are kinda lost on what to do with their IPs.

This WOW Forever is a total no-go. I didn't like anything about it.

Shammy for horde and undead paladins? Miss.
Skyborne :D new race? (Who the fuck brought up this idea even?!) Miss.
New dungeons? Not even close to what we've seen here on turtle. Miss.

Looks like another fan-modification rather than a Blizzard product.
Absolutely no 'WAR'craft feel. Retail game design decisions and overall vibe. 0 balls on this game.

Not even close to what we've got here. Especially community btw! I will not play with Blizzard bootlickers anymore.

So I think I'll skip it.

IMHO it's time for Microsoft to consider removing exclusive rights for Diablo, StarCraft and Warcraft from Blizzard, and let other developers create games within these IPs.

I would rather have Undead Paladins and Dwarf Shamans with no cross-faction grouping than what we have now.
How about neither? I don't like both of them.

I'm SO glad, you are not in a developer team :P

Everything works fine. Yesterday my friend also was crying about OctoWOW dying and everything I needed to do to launch the game was editing realmlist, that's all :D

You can't claim that Undead Paladins and Dwarf Shamans are a "miss" and then argue that the Alliance and Horde are besties who throw parties with each other. At least the middle ground I proposed would keep most Paladins in Alliance groups and most Shamans in Horde groups.

At least on the Hardcore server, I think Rold's position is the most viable (and to be honest, I think the OctoWoW team will need to reduce the raiding size from 20/40 man down to 10/15 or 10/20 man on the Hardcore server).

On the regular server I'm indifferent about whether "my way" or "your way" is better. Immersion-wise I strongly dislike Horde and Alliance grouping together.

Who in their right mind would put in their game an undead paladin?!
Meh. Undead Paladin does have a lore foundation, there was a story about it relating to Scarlet Monastery in vanilla lore IIRC. It was just never explored. My main gripe with Undead Paladin and Dwarf Shaman is how it affects faction identity and group compositions. I'd rather Shamans stay on the Horde and Paladin on Alliance.
You say this as a person who plays on a server with cross faction grouping. I was literally in a dungeon not long ago with three Paladins and two Shamans before the server disconnected me and refused to let me log the fuck back in again.
cross-faction grouping exists on private servers to make it easier for people of either side to do group content. it's a convenience to compensate for not having a 50/50 population split. it's not the same as having an actual undead paladin.

and even then, back on TurtleWoW, it was forbidden to be in a cross-faction group and do PvP.

You can't expect someone who is not passionate of the game anymore to create something nice and cool, Blizzard died long time ago.

I feel the same on Alliance shamans and Horde paladins. I'm not totally unsympathetic, I know OG Blizzard eventually gave up on this as well because they got tired of trying to balance the factions. Obviously I don't know what the rationale in the dev room is, but to me it feels like they're compromising faction identity and sacrificing RPG elements to pander to the fans. The racial fantasy is a huge part of what sells the setting, and the whole appeal of Classic+ is that it's a fresh start that's going to be faithful to how things were. That they aren't interested in trying to preserve that is a bad sign for the entire premise right out of the gate, but it's more or less what I expected tbh.

It still feels sanitized, a company that cannot take risks because of it's new audience/employees. It will never and can never have what TWoW had because it's shackled down by it's own audience, size and new image.
