In 1.17 dampening was not based on class and spec. Octo never implemented 1.18 dampening. Also it's just some hidden buff that applies damage multiplicator (reduction) if the conditions are met. And the conditions must be based on the target being a player.Defiant wrote: Sat Aug 22, 2026 6:59 pmDuraluminium wrote: Sat Aug 22, 2026 5:57 pm I'd not be so certain if I were you. That's fair. It just seems that if Dampening is based on class and even specialization, that it occurs on the players side, like an invisible debuff while they're in PVP-- but yeah it would be best to get confirmation from a dev.
Wait, does this mean the 300P Black Deathcharger is also obtainable in game? https://octowow.st/db/?item=23193Archer wrote: Fri Aug 21, 2026 3:18 pmWe figured that the scarlet charger would be more meaningful if it were obtainable ingame as opposed to irl money. So stay on the lookout for itMarigosa wrote: Fri Aug 21, 2026 2:09 pm It's good that the donation shop has been updated, but honestly, I don't think removing those mounts and other stuff from it that it have before was good idea.
How about bringing them back into the shop periodically? I specificity asking about scarlet horse![]()

Mosy important question, is it just hunter or did totems and lock pet alsp got dampend?Duraluminium wrote: Sat Aug 22, 2026 5:35 pmOh, stop this nonsense. It was not a bug cause it always worked like this on Turtle. It was a mechanic. Was it a good mechanic? Probably not. But you cannot call it a bug.Defiant wrote: Sat Aug 22, 2026 5:17 pmIt's not a nerf. It's a bug fix. Just because they fix a bug affecting one class does not mean they'll make balance changes to another. The two things are not the same.Duraluminium wrote: Fri Aug 21, 2026 10:37 am
What about damage done to pets by players? Is it lowered by dampening too? If not, it's a big nerf to BM hunters and warlocks, and still no nerfs to shamans..
It's a balance change, not a bug fix. If this change comes as 'We decided to add all the PVP dampening rules to pets in the same way as they are applied to the pets owners' - it's a good change. But from the initial post it seem to be applying only one way - the pets do less damage to players. So in fact this change reduces warlocks and especially BM hunters PVP effectiveness.
It's a nerf, a PVP balance change.
When we asked for balance changes for tank shamans in PVP, we were told that there will be no class balance changes till at least January. Then we were told that they will be collecting data and we will not see any PVP balance changes for at least 2 months. And after all of that, following only few posts on the forum about hunter pets, we are having such big nerf - a 20% damage reduction for pets and all the abilities that are counted as pets damage.
I'd still like to receive an answer from Kestrel about this.
While I appreciate world first titles, am not a fan of this being awarded in a closed beta where progression was not done in phases because all this really is is "who got to 60 first" and I think there is already a title awarded for that?Kestrel wrote: Fri Aug 21, 2026 8:34 am • Players who scored their realm's first Molten Core kill have been retroactively awarded the realm first title
