I don't care what the server's "privacy policy" is. They rolled out a product for us to play—so let us actually play it. Don't just give us promises that we might be able to play properly at some point down the line. I haven't seen a solution to the problem in the month this has been going on; all I see are promises. When will this end—can we at least get a rough timeframe? Or are we supposed to wait forever for promises without ever getting to play properly, only to eventually leave for official servers because there's nowhere else to get that "Classic+" experience?Schwarzschild wrote: Fri Sep 25, 2026 3:44 pmYou must not forget that Octo cannot go through the usual companies like CloudFlare etc. who would solve this kinda problem within a few hours or days. In order to maintain anonymity they have to go through FlokiNet, who can basically dictate terms to them. Their business has been around for a while, hosting whistleblower stories etc., but they have absolutely no experience with hosting a WoW-server.Sqweellex wrote: Fri Sep 25, 2026 3:36 pm You’ve had a month to solve the problem. A whole month. How much longer are we expected to wait and put up with this? In that time, countless raids have been rescheduled or have failed completely—not to mention the battlegrounds, which are unplayable. Sure, there are hardly any crashes now, but if you try to log back into your character—whether manually or after a crash—it takes about 50 attempts. Right now, I’ve entered my login and password a hundred times and still can't get onto the server.
Can you give us a specific timeframe for when this will be resolved? No fairy tales about ISPs or technical nuances. Just tell us straight: "We need a day, a week, or a month, and then everything will work fine without issues." Like, "We’ll have it all fixed by [date]."
Or is this going to be the new normal? If so, just say it: "We can't solve the DDoS issue." No empty promises about "trying" or "doing our best." Just give it to us straight—either you'll fix it by a certain time, or you won't fix it at all.
Thanks for your time.
So... FlokiNet has to learn and they move at a glacial pace because they simply can as their costumers do not have many alternative choices. Kestrel said there is no communicating with them at all during the weekend, and even during the week they sometimes have to wait for considerable time spans for FlokiNet to respond to Octo's inquiries. This is how a cornered market works.
