You somehow think the game is made for YOU. It’s not. Do you know what my wife likes to do? She picks flowers, not because she wants to make potions, but because it’s nice picking flowers. My son does not understand much of the game, but he likes to dress in silly clothes. He also thinks blue elves are cool, skyborn or night elf.

Now I get that you tough guys like to gatekeep the "old classic WoW" as some sort of sacred thing that must never contain anything you personally dislike, but that has never been what WoW is. It has always been full of silly references, ridiculous costumes, seasonal events and things that barely fit your supposedly serious fantasy setting.

Nobody is forcing you to participate. It is a tiny optional event that some people will enjoy, most people will probably ignore, and then everyone moves on with their lives. Yet somehow its mere existence is enough for you to declare that it has "no right" to be in the game.
It's clear you're more interested in lecturing me from a pedestal than having an honest discussion about lore or game direction. You twisted my post to fight a caricature, dodging every point I made about lore consistency and corporate partnerships. Throwing out labels and hiding behind wholesome anecdotes doesn't invalidate legitimate concerns about the game's direction.

The irony here is that while you lecture me about 'gatekeeping' the game, you are actively trying to gatekeep who is allowed to criticize its direction.

I value worldbuilding that respects the established lore, you value casual novelty. We clearly hold the game to different standards, but pretending your perspective gives you the authority to silence others is pure arrogance.

I’ve stated my piece on why I believe this direction dilutes the setting and lore. You’re free to enjoy the game as it is, but you don't get to dictate who gets to voice critique on a public forum.
