A Tribute to the GMs and All Players of OctoWow

I am Moli from the Chinese guild Panda, and one of the founding members of Panda Guild.

First of all, regarding the incident involving the Eye of Sargeras, I would like to offer an apology to all players and GMs on behalf of our guild. We accept any penalty the GMs issue to player Meatgrinder. We also consent to the GM team auditing and investigating our guild internally until this whole matter is fully resolved. If this is an individual’s fault, we accept punishment for that individual; if it is a guild-wide issue, we accept collective punishment for the whole guild. We trust the fairness of OctoWow’s administration team.

Secondly, we sincerely apologize once more for the negative impact this incident has brought to the server. World of Warcraft is a timeless classic, a game built through collective effort, farming and progression for all players. We will ensure nothing like this happens again, and invite every player on the server to keep an eye on us and witness our conduct moving forward.

There has been a flood of critical messages targeting Panda Guild in server chat, as well as harassing whispers sent to our guild members. I do not agree with this kind of behavior. I welcome GM oversight during all our raid runs, and we are open to supervision from every player. However, please refrain from malicious rumors and slander against individual players and our guild. We are ready to face this incident head-on, yet we cannot stop ill-intentioned people from using this situation to stir up conflict.

Panda was originally founded because our group faced unfair treatment in the Nebula guild. Back when we were grinding fire resistance gear for MC voluntarily, their guild leader accused us of ninjaing materials. When we suggested prioritizing tank gear for early MC progression, we were accused of ninjaing equipment. How could a team push through MC’s early progression without sufficient fire resistance tank gear? In the end, he kicked all of us out of Nebula and spread lies claiming we had ninjaed loot.

Our values simply did not align, so we founded Panda Guild ourselves. Our original goal was to tackle raids positively alongside like-minded players—until this unfortunate incident occurred, for which we are truly sorry.
Panda Guild welcomes supervision from anyone on OctoWow, whether for 5-man dungeons or 40-man raids. We embrace this scrutiny, as it lets us prove our integrity and skill. We also open our doors to any player who wishes to join Panda; every new recruit will be treated as a core part of our family.

Certain guilds and individuals have slandered and defamed Panda. You may continue to do so if you wish, but I believe time will tell the full truth.

What goes around comes around. World of Warcraft is its own community ecosystem, and let us all work together to nurture a healthy server environment.

Panda (Chinese Guild) Progression Clearances:

Onyxia’s Lair, Molten Core, 10-man Karazhan – all fully cleared.
Like-minded players are warmly invited to apply and join us.

Thank you,

Moli of Panda

Idk if this is doable, but I gotta say I might actually agree with this one.

People will always have different opinions. I want to just add I think you all handled and remedied this beautifully and professionally! Especially the community transparency.

Are you saying that breaking the rules is acceptable as long as you pay enough gold to reduce the penalty? That's quite an interesting idea.
I think this idea could encourage more gold-farming operations to join the server.

Alright, I am the party involved, 绞肉机. Let me ask you plainly: what rule exactly did I violate? I admit that it was my mistake to ask the GM for materials. Back then, the GM even gave me 2 totems at the end — I only asked for those items on a whim, just to test it, I never expected the GM would actually give them to me.
I don't even know who you are right now. Let me ask you this: if I asked you for 500 USD right now, would you give it to me? If I took that 500 USD, bought a nice meal and new clothes, and then it turned out that 500 USD was illicit money and you got sentenced for it — would I be guilty of the same crime as you? Your statements are completely biased!

Kestrel wrote: Wed Jun 10, 2026 10:35 pm This is a situation we had prepared for, but hoped would never happen.

We onboarded a new GM, Bushdoctor, on June 3rd. They were given the usual GM onboarding documents which include instructions on how they should interact with the community, explanations of our internal auditing procedures and policies, an explanation of our GM tooling/dashboard, and instructions to report anytime you need to use a command that may call into question what was happening.

Our internal auditing runs every 3 days to ensure things are clean, and is run manually more frequently after onboarding new GMs. Our last GM audit ran clean on June 6th and we went back to the 3 day audit schedule. Shortly after that last audit ran, Bushdoctor began to act much more generously (we use the word generously because it is accurate, not as a judgement positive or negative) towards players. In total the following items/gold where given out over the course of 48 hours.

Sulfuron Ingot x 5
Arcanite Bar x 10
Ironfoe x 1
Zebra x1
Blindweed x1
17.5g across 3 players

After reviewing the chat logs, all but one of these players were naive, their items/gold/mount have been removed. The Hand of Ragnaros that was crafted with these materials (along with the title) was also removed.

One of these players was not naive, Meatgrinder. This player knew what they were doing, requested the materials, crafted the hammer, then lied about it to the community and GM's. We have issued a 7 day ban on the account that owns Meatgrinder, and will not be restoring any materials used to craft the hammer (potentially a permanent ban, barring internal discussions and community feedback). Please find some of the relevant chat logs below.

...
2026-06-10 03:42:52 [Whisp] Meatgrinder -> Bushburna : You gave me 5 Sulfuron Ingots, which was exactly the final material I needed to craft the Orange Hammer! When I logged in today, my Orange Hammer was gone — I immediately knew it had been deleted.
2026-06-10 03:43:44 [Whisp] Bushburna -> Meatgrinder : Daaaaang bro thats rough. Yeah you can attempt to make the appeal. Sorry that it came down like that.
2026-06-10 03:44:00 [Whisp] Bushburna -> Meatgrinder : Like I said bro. Its out of my hands
2026-06-10 03:44:11 [Whisp] Bushburna -> Meatgrinder : Bushdoctor is no longer
2026-06-10 03:45:18 [Whisp] Meatgrinder -> Bushburna : Can I get my Orange Eye and all other materials back? Or is there really no hope for my Orange Hammer anymore?
2026-06-10 03:45:40 [Whisp] Bushburna -> Meatgrinder : You need to make the appeal with the GMs and Devs. I got fired bro
2026-06-10 03:45:52 [Whisp] Bushburna -> Meatgrinder : Thats what Ive been saying

*Trying to defend himself in public /s chat*
2026-06-10 04:40:54 [Say] Meatgrinder : We already had 3 Sulfuron Ingots ourselves. The other 5 Sulfuron Ingots and related materials were all purchased from a Warrior and a Shaman whose name starts with B, at 400g per Ingot. The deal also included 10 Lava Cores for 20g each. I was really happy
...
2026-06-10 04:44:12 [Say] Meatgrinder: That Shaman whose name starts with B sold me 5 Sulfuron Ingots for 400g each (2000g total), plus 9 Lava Cores for 180g. All of this gold was pooled for me by the Hunters, Mages and Warriors in my guild.

*Made a ticket about the hammer*
2026-06-10 06:52:18 [Whisp] Valette -> Meatgrinder : Hi again Meatgrinder, we are aware that Bushdocta gave you some of the materials, so a convoluted explaination of material sourcing is not required. Kestrel will reach out within the next day to give you some more information.

2026-06-10 09:57:53 [Whisp] Meatgrinder -> Bushburna : Bro, here's my plan. Tomorrow I'll tell the GM straight up we had a 1v1 duel and you lost. Then I'll admit I asked you for the materials and you gave them to me.
2026-06-10 09:57:59 [Whisp] Meatgrinder -> Bushburna : I hope he only takes away five Sulfuron Ingots and returns the rest of the materials. That way I'll lose the least.
2026-06-10 09:58:41 [Whisp] Bushburna -> Meatgrinder : Im praying to the most high for the best outcome.
2026-06-10 09:58:43 [Whisp] Meatgrinder -> Bushburna : Just come clean.
2026-06-10 09:59:40 [Whisp] Meatgrinder -> Bushburna : I don't think they'll give me another legendary hammer, judging by how your admins handle things.
2026-06-10 10:00:06 [Whisp] Bushburna -> Meatgrinder : lololol probably not xD

For those of you that have questions you feel the community deserves and answer to, feel free to ask below and I will do my best to answer. For those of you that have other questions, feel free to bring them to the Fireside chat this Sunday where I will be happy to offer my personal perspective on the situation where I can.
Hi K, I am the party involved, 绞肉机. I will be completely honest with you: I was fully in the wrong in this incident. I hid the details of asking the GM for items, I even planned to lie to B and say it was a duel wager, and I concealed all of this from everyone in my guild. When our guild got the Orange Eye, I became too eager for quick results — we didn't get the server first clear, so I fixated on getting the server's first legendary orange item instead. That was entirely my own selfish decision.
I have now fully realized my mistake, and I feel deep regret for everything that happened. I understand the GM involved has been dismissed, but I sincerely beg you not to permanently ban my account as well. I have never violated any other server rules: I have never dual-boxed to farm gold, I have never engaged in RMT, and I have never exploited any bugs or glitches to farm materials or currency.
The Orange Eye was legitimately looted by our guild when we full cleared Molten Core on our second raid CD — no GM was involved in giving us that legendary item. I only asked that GM for 5 Sulfuron Ingots and 10 Arcanite Bars. Every other crafting material was pooled and purchased for me by my guild members, little by little. I never used any game exploits to obtain any items, my only mistake was asking that GM for those small amount of materials.
I sincerely hope you can show me leniency, and not permanently ban my account.

You're right, I know those items were improperly obtained, but using them does not mean I deserve a permanent ban! I have already accepted my punishment: I lost thousands of gold and my account was suspended. I have already paid the price for my mistake — it is completely unreasonable to say I "deserve to be permanently banned" like you claim.
Your statements are extreme and full of bias! I have never exploited any game bugs to farm gold or materials, and I have never engaged in any RMT. Arguing that "asking for items and benefiting from it makes you equally guilty" is an extremely biased and unreasonable position.

Hello to all players and GMs, I am the owner of the account Meatgrinder (绞肉机).
Today I am here to sincerely apologize for my mistakes. My action of asking a GM for crafting materials was completely wrong, and trying to hide the details and make up excuses afterwards made it even worse. I am sorry to the GM team for all the trouble I have caused, I am sorry to my guildmates who helped me pool all the materials, and I am sorry for bringing negative impact to the server community. I truly feel deep remorse for my actions.
I have already paid the corresponding price for my mistakes: my account has been temporarily suspended for 7 days, all Orange Hammer crafting materials have been fully removed, and I still owe thousands of gold to my guild. I fully accept all of these punishments without any complaint.
But I also want to make it clear: besides this single mistake of asking a GM for a small amount of materials, I have not committed any other rule violations. I have never dual-boxed to farm gold, never engaged in any RMT (real money trading), and never exploited any game bugs to farm materials or gold. Our Orange Eye was a legitimate drop from our guild's second full clear of Molten Core, and all remaining materials were collected little by little by guild members through pooling gold and running dungeons, with no improper acquisition of any kind.
I understand everyone's anger at calling for a permanent ban, but a permanent ban is truly too severe for a first offense like mine. I have been a Warcraft player for over 20 years. Since the server launched, I have stayed up day and night to level up, and to fill roles for our team I have leveled both a Warrior and a Priest myself. Our guild only has 3 tanks in total, and I am one of them. If I am permanently banned, not only will all my own efforts go completely to waste, but our entire guild's Molten Core raid progress will also be severely affected — which would also be unfair to the dozens of other hardworking guild members.
I have deeply realized my mistake. I guarantee that I will never make any similar mistakes again in the future, and will strictly abide by all server rules. I sincerely ask the GM team and all players to give me a chance to correct my mistakes. Please do not permanently ban my account. Thank you everyone.

when you contact GM and to obtain unfair gains, it seriously impacts the fairness of the game. If Kestrel hadn’t found out, who knows what might have happened? For fairness, I hope all players are given two chances.
