PvP Changes V1

[Xar99]

A bounty system is a much better solution and would motivate so much more to help the low level players out!
But of course, I personally think that you should just leave it like it was in vanilla without introducing such changes at all. Especially now at this stage where bug fixing is so much more important to polish the whole already familiar PvP experience.

This is a hot button topic and we're getting lost in the weeds.

The solution to grey level ganking is what Warhammer Online did:

turn you into a chicken with 1 hp until you leave. the exception would be in enemy cities as to not discourage city raids and tbh any flagged player is fair game in a city raid.

The exact info will be available eventually. As many are new here this feel worth re-iterating, you are playing a Beta server. Changes are happening daily and at a rapid pace. Until things settle down (which they have already started to greatly) we will not be posting consistent or thorough changelogs. This is how Beta development tends to work.

We have already started work on a revamp of the website to better display the custom OctoWoW changes that we have made from the base Turtle WoW game. Long term we hope to modify it to reflect all changes that this server has from a base vanilla experience.

We will be disabling this debuff on the next restart due to the potential issues around city raids triggering this debuff.

We have already made changes to increase honor from open world kills, as well as reward EXP for HK's.

It is our intention to bring this debuff back in a modified form at some point. We recognize that any change to the PvP realm will result in backlash, and we still plan on making changes. We want to ensure that the community is heard, but also that the loud voices are not the only ones heard. I will be making a sticky thread in the suggestions chat with details on a proposed second iteration of this debuff to gather more community feedback.

I’m amazed by the reaction of some people here. It stinks "greykiller" a mile off.

I'm curious as to how this discussion evolved. Did this sticky thread happen?

EDIT: Or did the intended thread turn into "Boosting Rule Adjustments"?

After further talks with Don and monitoring our PvP server we received a remarkably small number of tickets about grey greifing. That coupled with the myriad of other things we got going on has taken this off our plates for now and we don't plan to revisit it unless issues arise in the future.
