If Turtle WoW was open-source it would have been a lot easier for you guys to take the torch and continue their work.

Be like ChromieCraft and AzerothCore.

This project has the potential of being a landmark in the private server community.

Or well... don't I guess... the plans you mentioned already make it quite immune to being taken down it sounds like... but I definitely support the open-source angle just to make it even more immune... ahah

Devs said they'll open source the launcher soon enough, so that'll probably already quell those worries from people

I still think they should open source the whole project itself someday, their work can't be lost like turtle was.

Sure, maybe the things they're doing to prevent it from going down will be enough already, but you can never be so sure tbh

And if their work is good (specially with novel custom stuff past 1.18.1) people will keep coming here even if the code itself is avaiable publicly

Comprehending jokes is hard nowadays

There are other preservation projects ongoing that are working on rebuilding the server and open sourcing it all. The octo team is working with them and sharing information as far as I'm aware.

Making this project open-souce would give it a greater purpose and identity, I completely support the idea and I hope they'll go this way.
