Hello all,

Wanted to share the pre-raid BIS for Prot Paladin on OctoWow, as a guide to new players.
Feel free to discuss what can be altered.

First know that at lvl 60 you'll need to farm exalted with Wardens of Time in Tanaris which means doing Black Morass a bunch of times, luckily many good items drop from there as well.

Head: Timeloop Headguard or Helm of the Executioner, SM or Stratholme, both easy to get, potentially X-54 Guardian Ocular Implants which is a quest reward that looks cool
Neck: Shard of Eternity - BM rep, easy to get
Shoulders: Pauldrons of the Timeless - BM, harder to get because it's 14% drop but you'll do BM so much you'll get them eventually
Chest: Guard-Captain's Chestplate - SMV, easy to get
Waist: Corroded Plate Belt - BM, easy to get
Legs: Greaves of the Elite Guard - SMV, 17% chance or Crimson Defender's Leggings - Stratholme at 11% - maybe the hardest item from the list, but an easy option is from BM - Leggings of the Nullifier
Feet: Temporal Bronze Boots - BM rep, easy to get
Wrists: Consumer Shackles - KC, harder to get than Arcanite Shackles - SMV since SMV is ran more and it's 25% drop chance vs 15% for Consumer Shackles.
Hands: Gauntlets of the Elite Guard - SMV, easy to get
Other options are in Scholomance Deathbone Gauntlets or Boneclenched Gauntlets
Finger 1: Sandswept Ring of Arcanum - BM rep, easy to get, or Ring of Authority - from KC a bit harder to get with 17% chance.
Finger 2: Band of Infinite Possibilities - BM, easy to get
Trinket 1: Royal Seal of Eldre'Thalas - DM quest, atm 180g on AH so hard to get, alternative Eye of the Beast - from a quest in UBS - easy to get
Trinket 2: Fabric of Time - BM, easy but casters will roll on this too
Cloak: Wing of the Time-Lord - BM rep or Quel'dorei Hero's Cloak - Silvermoon rep
Main Hand:Blade of Infinite Mysteries - BM rep
Off Hand: Bulwark of the Crimson Guard - BM, easy to get
Ranged: Libram of Radiance - SM, easy to get


Other tips, level cooking for food buff, start leveling in High Elf zone to get their rep for cloak as they get BiS Cloaks at 30/45/60, level survival a bit to get to Simple Slingshot which will allow you to range pull.
Main profession wise it really depends - you can do gathering professions like herb/mining/skinning to make gold or do JC to make some cool items while leveling like The Golden Goblet, Eng could also be good for the bombs or Alchemy for potions.

So I just started playing on the server, and I never did tank paladin, back in classic, only in burring crusade. How is propalatin on the server? Is it an acceptable tank for end game?
