Solution to healthy gaming

Hello to everyone.
I want to make this post short and efficient.
First, I love vanilla wow. And would love to meet same chilled players in Octo.
Second, to make a big leap to that future healthy Octo environment, lets just do one small action, that will solve, as I think, a ton of discussion.
The action is simple and I hope all of you, guys, will appreciate it.
Lets remove ANY experience to ANY character inside a party (be it mob tagging or dungeon grind or AOE farming, it doesnt matter) if into that party there is ANY character, to whom the mob(s) are grey level and that character(s) make ANY successful attack against the mob(s), even if its just 1 attack, when that action helps in ANY way to the killing of the mob(s) and the group ends up actuallly killing that mob. Applied to normal, rare elite mobs, elite mobs, npc mobs and city/settlement guards of the opposing faction.
Taking an action of healing small lvl groupmates is under discussion here too.
Now what do we get, guys?
No money/experience boost is involved, no mechanics is broken, none of the party is power leveled, job is done (q complete, gear aquired, other help performed, etc) and spirit is kept alive.
I ask game masters and moderators to consider and validate this and figure out by what efforts this could be applied to Octo asap.
And I ask for the discussion of this from the community.
With deep respect to the game, community and Octo wow staff.

Thinking of this a bit more...
Technical solution may be like this: when the party between at least 2 players is formed, and those players engage in any combat against the world (or against a player, why not) the game automatically calculates the level difference between party and mob/another player.
For open world it could be like this: if inside the party there is at least 1 player, to whom the target is grey lvl (for pvp especially), then exp is set to 0 automatically.
For dungeon it could be like this: when a group of at least 2 players enter the portal, game autoscans their lvls, and if any mob inside the generated instance version turns out to be a grey level to any of the party members, the exp is set to 0 automatically.
How sound is that? Is this or other solution of the like applicable?
Ready to test this and any of close-themed ideas on N'Zoth.

I really don't like this grey mob thing lowering exp for people. I feel pretty bad being only 37 going through Dragonmaw and cucking them for exp just because I want to try and complete the set.
I get what you are trying to do to remove boosting but having it as just a blanket 0 exp because some mobs are grey would be terrible IMO. Do I know a proper solution to this?
Uhhh no honestly, as there would be even issues with level ranges once you get up to the higher levels and 60s can give you exp. Also issues with reading character stats as that's pretty easily manipulated. Same with capping players power if they are too high level (making soloing some stuff much harder or impossible)
I don't agree with boosting at all in the slightest, but I don't think a little bit of grey mobs should be cause for 0 exp, that's a bit extreme. I would say our current system is a lot better then 0 exp.
I just wanted to say my 2 sense on it as I'm leveling another character, not saying your idea is completely garbage because I like what you are trying to do.
For the PVP side, I feel that makes more sense but I also haven't done Warmode. Don't know exactly how the exp is rewarded or how strong.
Maybe allowing a bit over the dungeons levels to give exp? Say 40-45 for Dragonmaw.. But then again once you get up to a point where a 60 can run you through a higher dungeon and give you exp, same will happen and that's when leveling takes the longest too.
Really wouldn't be fun making these decisions for thousands of people, that's for sure. Envy devs for that for sure.

I recall Epoch having this. It was probably one of the most unpopular things about that server.
Because all this would mean is that if you group up with someone who's much higher level (Let's say a Tank who wanted to be the most prepared to tank a dungeon), then people would be pretty much locked out of getting experience for half of the dungeon because the higher level character has them all gray.
That's really terrible.

When you hate the game so much you want no one to like it

It's also a substantial impact on dungeons with a large level range -- Deadmines, for example, or Gnomeregan. Even Blackrock Depths. It could very well mean that a party that is, on average, appropriate for the dungeon could be locked out of getting XP for the first half because of one member at the top who is still in range for the dungeon (hardly "boosting") but outranges the early mobs.

This is such a novel idea, no one has suggested this or similar things before. Also the idea sucks.

Yes, I actuallly missed this. You're right guys. This scenario is ineligible to those who want to visit dungeons late, not to boost, or just to gear up or farm a certain item. Also, true that rest of the party will have to, idn, kick him from group and find another, of course this is bullshit.
But how about transform the idea into a working one? Or better have a totally different solution. Or leave things as they are and deal with boosting in some other, unknown to this day, way?
And while I write this, I understand that currently there are much bigger problems, especially the ddos attack waves.

This is just me saying it, but I don't care about boosting or it being some major problem that needs to be dealt with (Then again I've been playing largely solo with World chat disabled).
I'm honestly not even sure what drove you to making this thread in the first place.

I personally think that this system is okay. It's not perfect but it meets a good middle ground. Maybe the exp cut should be less maybe? Yes this would make boosting a little stronger but it would in turn not effect casuals as much.
Because going extreme either way isn't good. You will alienate too many people either way.
And I agree, this is a very minute problem currently and Kestrel and team are doing work about that it seems. Appreciate that being the top priority, no questions about that.
