Has there ever been discussion of adding a game mode between Hardcore and Normal? A mode with a significant penalty for death, possibly the permanent loss of one or more pieces of gear and/or items or gold.

I know me and my friends would definitely choose this mode if it were available. Has anybody ever taken a serious look at this? Would you be interested in playing this mode?

I don't recall the exact details (might have been loss of xp upon death), but one of the challenge modes is basically this.

I feel like S&S is the closest thing to ''Hardcore Lite''

I wouldn't be interested in playing such a mode, but I would be interested in thinking up names for it. Firmcore? Moderatecore? Middlecore.
