Ban Appeal - Ticket from 01.09

Hello,
Could someone check the ban appeal on my account (character SinOfPride)? The ticket was opened on 01.09.2026 and I haven't had a reply.
I'm not posting to argue the decision or to criticise anyone, and I'd rather keep the details in the ticket itself. I'd just like to know it's been seen, and eventually the reason for the ban, so I know whether it's something I can fix on my side.
Thanks

Ban appeals are done publicly here so that all appeals are handled transparently and future appeals are able to see how things are done.
Your accounts were banned for buying gold. If you believe this to be a mistake that is a conversation that will have to happen publicly.
GM's are not privy to RMT investigation details and tickets regarding ban appeals will typically direct you to this forum.

RMT? That's not what I expected at all.
I assumed the ban was something technical. I develop addons for the 1.12.1 client and test them on my own account, which means client libraries and constant reloading, and I thought that had tripped an automated flag. That's what my ticket has been about for two weeks.
I haven't bought gold. Not from a website, not from a Discord, not from anyone in game. I've also put my own money into this server through the store, which is part of why I wouldn't risk the account for gold I can farm myself.
One suggestion, meant constructively: my account page has a "Check ban appeal" button that opens a support chat. I used it on 01.09 and followed up, and had no reply until I posted here. If appeals are handled publicly, that button might be better pointing straight at this forum, so the next person doesn't lose two weeks in the wrong channel.

Yeah this looks to be a ban for an RMT transaction that was made back on July 20th for a 102g purchase.
We did have a vote in game on a prescription/statute of limitations for RMT bans, but "No Expiry" won with 69.4% of the vote so any previous RMT transaction found result in a perma-banned account.
Oh and we absolutely do need to update our ban appeal system on the website, it was checked for a while for some GM driven mute/ban appeals but we will re-direct that to this forum now.

Last thing from me, then I'll leave it with you.
I did not buy gold. I've never paid real money for currency here, from a site, a Discord or a person. That part I'm sure of.
What I can't be sure of is what landed in my mailbox. I use an addon that opens mail in bulk, one click for everything, so gold attached to a mail goes into my bags without me reading the sender or the amount. If 102g arrived that way in July, I wouldn't have noticed and I wouldn't remember it now.
I'm not offering that as proof of anything... I'm saying it because it's the only honest way I can account for gold reaching my account without me having bought it.
Either way, thank you for replying properly and for taking the point about the appeal system on the website. Good luck with the server.

How do in-game voting work? How can I participate?

Yeah situations such as this is why I was a bit hesitant to go with the "no expiry on guilt" vote but it was somewhat overwhelming.
That being said, I did review the evidence and I don't have any doubt about the accuracy of its findings. Accepting large amounts of gold from players you have never interacted with and never will again is generally a bad idea.

There are in game pollsters that you can go to. Right now there are no active polls on the normal realm but more should be coming once these DDoSes are dealt with.
