Survival White Wand
Posted: Tue Oct 06, 2026 10:30 am
Currently I'm doing Vagrant's Endeavor + Traveling Craftsman ... as caster.
After couple levels it dawned on me that I'm out of any kind of wand up to lvl 60.
The only wands I can craft are green - cant use. The only white wands are vendor - cant use.
While other classes can do this journey and craft their own white gear, casters are left out. Out of significant part of toolset.
I suggest making white wands (which can be bought) a survival craftable item, goes in line with other various white weapons in survival skill.
OR if we dont want to give Survival trainer magic item.
Creating "snapped" alternative to white wands as in:
Withered Wand -> Snapped Withered Wand. Quest item randomly found in trees.
Present the item to local Survival trainer, (get some wood, some magic stuff - corresponding the the level bracket) and fetching items teaches the skill for crafting
Each bracket of Trees: Simple/Shade etc gives corresponding lvl of white Snapped wand quest item.

QUEST
""What do we have here? Hand that over..."
X inspects the snapped piece of wood, running a thumb over the charred scorch marks along its grip.
"This isn't ordinary timber, adventurer. Look closely at these faint sigils—this is a Snapped Withered Wand. Some mage likely dropped it here during a skirmish years ago, and the forest simply swallowed it up over time. It took a severe beating in that fight, and your axe didn't do it any favors.
The magic in it is long dead, but I can splice the shaft back together so it holds its shape. We'll need a Bundle of Simple Sticks to reinforce the frame, some Refreshing Spring Water, and a pinch of Strange Dust. Mixing the dust into the water creates a fine, glowing binding paste that re-ignites just enough magic to bond the wooden core.
Finally, bring me a bolt of Linen Cloth. We'll soak the fabric in the paste and wrap the splints tight so the binding holds forever.
Fetch the supplies, and I'll patch up this wand for you."

Required items:
[Snapped Withered Wand] (1/1)
[Bundle of Simple Sticks] (0/6)
[Strange Dust] (0/2)
[Refreshing Spring Water] (0/1)
[Bolt of Linen Cloth] (0/2)
-----
Completion:
"Ah, you've brought the materials. Stand back and watch close—I'm only going to demonstrate this technique once."
X pours the Refreshing Spring Water over the Strange Dust, stirring it into a smooth, glowing paste. After soaking the linen strips, X tightly wraps the splints along the fracture. A tiny spark of pale light flickers along the seam as the magic sets the bond completely firm.
"There. Now that you've seen how to mix the paste and lash the splints correctly, you can craft these yourself whenever you need one."
