For months, Molten Core has conquered week after week. Ragnaros has been defeated, bosses have fallen over and over, and guilds across every server have had time to prove themselves against the heart of Blackrock Mountain.

A week ago, the gates of Zul'Gurub opened up.
Which have claimed the attention of adventures across Azeroth. With new rewards, more preparation to be done.

Yet neither of these are our destination.... it was just preparation.
Deep within the Mountain, Nefarian has watched you grow stronger. He has seen you defeat Ragnaros over and over and claim the core for yourselves.

How he claims he is ready to challenge you all. Blackwing Lair will demand more...

The Release Date Has Changed

Blackwing Lair will now be released on:
Date: November 1st, 2026
Time: 17:00 UTC

This is an earlier release than previously announced. The original date of November 5th has been moved forward, giving guilds four fewer days to prepare before the gate will open.

The race begins the moment Blackwing Lair is available.


The Race for Server First
Blackwing Lair will have a Server First race, with a title awarded to the first raid on every server.

This is not 1 race with a single winner. Every server (N'Zoth, C'thun and Y'Shaarj) will have its own chance.

The first team on each server to complete the full raid will earn the Server First title and have the honor of showing off it off.

Nefarian is watching.
The countdown has begun.

Will your name be remembered as the one that claimed Server First?

They've addressed it, it's not on their radar for the time being until everything else is sorted out and organized, which makes sense.

I'd be super excited for this, but I haven't been able to log in for almost three days now lol. I've been stuck fighting the actual new raid boss, the dark portal on the login screen.

Is this going to be the original classic BWL or the terrible version from prior to Turtle closing?

If the latter, will any fights be modified prior to release? Or will there be a larger loot pool to match the increased difficulty? (If original version then disregard this I guess)

Old Turtlewow content is more than enough once all phases are out.

They should not rush any new content until they have the infrastructure to create content with the same quality that the one created by turtle in the last patches.
Focusing on making the server stable and protecting from ddos is more than enough.

why change 08:00 UTC to 17:00 UTC ?

Hi Rook, could you please consider us here in Asia? I suggest changing the time to 12:00 UTC. That way, it will most likely be around noon in Europe and around 8 p.m. in Asia, rather than 1 a.m. I’m sure no one can start a raid at 1 a.m. late on a Monday night! People who have to work the next day won’t be able to take part in Blackwing Lair progression!

I hope you guys do something about the instance lag. The last few weeks in MC and Ony have been appalling!

Big bummer, way too soon on Y'shaarj.
My guild has not even done a full MC.
After the DDOS debacle, Guilds just disbanded or fused with others.
How about you give us some TIME?
The PvP server keeps on taking hits from all directions and it's very sad.
